View Full Version : Creative Assembly beat up units
Is it possible to repair units. I mean if my spearmen has gone from 100 to 56 can I refit them?
Yes, take the beat up unit to a prov that can train spearmen. Pull up that prov's training que. Drag and drop your 56 spearmen unit into a box on the training que. The next year the unit will be full strength again.

Also worth noting is that if you have an armourer or a metalsmith in the province they will come out of their training with new weapons. But most people know that http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

Greetings middy. Thanks for the visit.
Are they giving away MTW in Denmark? We've had more Danes joining in the past few weeks than almost any other group - except maybe the Scotts. Just look around and you're bound to run into some fellow countrymen (and women).
Note too that retraining can be performed on full strength units and can yield morale boosts from churches, monestaries, reliquaries and such in addition to any weapon and armor improvements. Master structures can bestow valor this way as well.

One other point needs to be made: retraining an understrength unit to bring it back up to numerical strength can reduce its combat power - the new recruits can have a lower valour than the existing soldiers in the unit, so dropping the overall valour of the unit.
Sometimes it's better to combine high value units of the same kind into one stronger unit, as this can keep up the overall valour of the resulting unit.

That's a very good point Cpt. Fishpants. Unless you can substantially upgrade your armor or weapons, I would opt to combine two depleted units to maintain the higher honor level.

and how do you combine two injured units?
I figured out that they have to be the same type.
Is there any way to take a good leader from an injured unit and put him with a different type of unit?
thanks

Hi shinyhalo, welcome to our discussion. To answer your question, no you can't change your general's troop type. If he's a peasant he remains a peasant. This isn't really a problem though, I find that I get a good mix of troop types for my generals. Using your princes to lead your armies is also a good idea, but wait till you have several available to protect and ensure the family succession.
