the files i play with, and i'm a novice to modding are

crusader_unit_prod11.txt, crusader_build_prod13.txt, and projectilestats.txt(think that's right) if you used the default location when installing they shoul be at c:\programfiles\medieval-totalwar\

then in campmap there are three early, late, and high.txt they control the strategic map you play on, as well as factions, provence incomes, etc.. their located in default
c:\programfiles\medieval-totalwar\campmap\startpos\

the spellings not correct, just use windows explorer to find them.. all of them are text files, and you can edit them in notepad.. or lord gnome made a editor for anyone that will do everything except the era files in campmap

make sure you back up any file, you will be modding, that away if it locks the game, all you have to do is replace what ever file you messed up.. i had to reinstal twice before i learned that lesson... all the files have instructions on the top of them as to what the columns in the files will do.

one question though, in all the text files in start post i didn't see unit stats, they just have other stuff, like regions and all

I highly recomend you download Gnome's M:TW text file editor from this site. It makes modding 1000 times easier as you can actualy see what each collum is for and dont have to worry about messing up the tabs. It work with the files for unit stats, building stats, and projectile stats. You still have to edit the startpos campaign file with a standard text editor, though that file is probably the easiest to deal with. Gnome, you are my hero. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Murat, read the pinned topics at the top of the Dungeon forum. There is a lot of information there about modding.
