Well since I got my short introduction done to my satisfaction, I'd like to know what I should do before I am able to post in the jousting fields and/or how long it takes... So if someone is willing to answer that, please don't be shy and do so http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Thanks for the warm welcome btw http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I have no urgent need as of yet for technical or game related solutions, so that will limit my interaction with the rest of this place lots I guess... Of course advanced advice, tips, suggestions related to my beloved Egyptians and Turks are always welcome http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

(I haven't discovered the edit post button yet)

I never said my comments would include any good ideas. Little chance even I think, I do not wish to dissapoint you too severly SmokW. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Welcome, Tempiic. You don't get an edit button as a Junior Patron. We don't expect mistakes from you...j/k http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

If you are a fan of the Turks, you might want to join in on the Turk AAR campaign that started just days ago.

To follow the action, go here: The Game (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=5063)

To sign up or learn more about it, go here: Information & Sign up (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=4877)

Well bloody hell Gregoshi, there i was thinking as i read this that he might like to join in the AAR and then i get to your post and you've already done it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pissed.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

No, i appreciate it, makes tears come to my eyes http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif although thats probably because ive just been eating onions.

But yes Tempiic if you want to join i would think you would be a valuable addition to the list of governors especially if the Turks and the Egyptians are your favourite factions. I normally play with the English so this is a voyage of discovery for me as well.

Ahh ok... that would explain why I do not see anything but 'quote' in the right corner... Ok fair enough, then expect lots of double posts then http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

Quote[/b] ][...]as i read this that he might like to join in the AAR and[...]

*giggles* mmm hmmm he might http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Anyways yes sounds very interesting. Sure count me in. I'll make my official reply + suggestion in that information and sign up thread in a short while since without edit possibilities I better write it down in notepad first http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

May I shamelessly give an url to a site quite similiar to AAR?

Tip for Egyptians:
Mameluke Cavalry uses mace, an armor piercing weapon. Properly upgraded, they could kill even lancers. Khwarazmian cav has stronger stat, but upgraded to able to kill knights would be much more expensive. Since knights have heavy armors, armor piercing means you are taking away about 1/3 of the knight defense (or read it another way, boost your attack by 1/3 at 0 costs).

Actually, egyptians has 2 more armor piercing infantry: Abyssinian guards and Ghazi infantry.

The Turks has Heavy Janissary. Of all the attributes of JHI (speed, cav-killer, high morale, good melee and defense), the armor piercing attribute is not fully appreciated. Send JHI to counter high valor (for sure having high armor) units. Stay away from the Halberdiers (which also has armor piercing).

However, if you bring H.Jan., do bring also one saracen (or more). You may want to reserve H.Jan. for the heavy job, leaving the wall-of-spear job to the Saracen.

Tempiic, we are keeping the AAR campaign here in the EH so all may participate...even those like yourself who can post anywhere now. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

BTW, where's the URL you mentioned?

Oh, and enjoy the edit button. I've thrown the delete button for free since you seem to be a nice guy. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Hi tempiic,

I did over look the Otoman Inf. Will have to take a look at them.

I check the games section of the website you mentioned at it seems to be blank. What is this website for?

Annie

ps.: perhaps the casual reader would never read the profile section, so doesn't know how to refer to you, as Ms. Tempiic or Mr. Tempiic. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Well normally the games link would give you short summeries about the games one can participate in... Of course they are in progress of updating stuff again so it is quite empty. Btw since it is mainly played on forums you may want to check out the forum link dear http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

Ottoman infantry make great reserve troops a conclusion I quickly reached http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

PS: Yeah i figured that http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Guess I am not really a person to make it that easy for them http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

PPS: I am really looking forward to friday http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Tempiic, in case you misunderstood, I picked up that you were Ms with your giggle and he. That is why I also italicized guy in my post and added a http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif for emphasis. I was just playing along. My powers of observation are sometime suspect, but I did figure it out this time. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
