Destroy churches?

Question: If you are Orthodox and takeover a Catholic province, should you leave their churches, cathedrals, etc. standing? Or should you destroy them? I think you are supposed to get some morale bonuses with your own faction's churches when you build units, but what happens if you have some other religion's place of worship? Is it neutral, negative...??? I wish I could see the unit morale info directly so I could test this...

hmmm....I thought that homegrown (corresponding you to your country and religion) buildings such as churches and cathedrals were destryed automatically when you conquer land. Am not sure what happens when you buy an army and therefore the consequent land it is in but I would have thought that it was all destroyed too...

I may stand corrected on this but then you won't face that problem...

Nah dont destroy them they count a church and it doesnt matter if its a muslim building a catholic or orthodox its the same thing if you capture it..

The important thing with religious buildings is who teaches the faith. For example, the sultan of Cordoba had built a great mosque here. The mosque was open on Friday for the prayer(muslims), on Saturdays for the Shabbat(jews) & on sundays for the mass(christians). It is now limited to a christian use(after a church has been built inside, piercing the roof. quite impressive).

The building is not important, its use is. Istambul's mosque was designed as a church, too...

Both Goldfish and Justy is not only my clan mates but my mentor as well and I would like to give a big thanks to them for provided me all the necessary training which had transformed me from a rookie who always blindly charge in action to a more competent player http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif . Apart from all these training, Nashwan younger brother Ferhad has also been a good comrade at arms whereby both of us had played some really good tag team in 2v2 games.

None the less, there is still a lot of room for improvement and i look forward to play with other stronger player so i am gain much needed experience. Thanks.
