I would really love to be able to write a comment on each of my Provences. You know Build up Cav upgrades here or Make seige engines here. The comment could be on the info screen for the provence. I currently write this kind of stuff on paper once my empire starts to get a little large and unweildly. Of course you can use the build que but with building pre-recs the que dosn't always help much.

This seems to me an easy way to cut down on some of the time it takes being a beaucrat and leaves more time for fightin' http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

What does anyone else reckon?

Something like this, but different. More like an overall tasklist or notepad. If you just add this to the province you have to check all regions anyhow, which is exactly what I do now anyway. Something which is more *task* related and less regional orientated would be more useful, I think.
Maybe just an electronic tasklist or somesuch thing.Ok, in a way the prerec building queue is such a thing, but I found it gets far less usefull the more the game progresses and your technology develops, because the timespan needed to build stuff gets far bigger. In the 20 turns needed to build a fortress *LOTS* can happen....and of course you can't preorder the upgrade which the fortress enables anyhow http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

That's exactly what I mean, after your fortress/citadel or whatever has been built, you forget what you were planning on building next. That's why a comment in the provence would be usefull, sure you still need to check each provence, but you need to do that to order the buildings that your fortress now allows anyway.

I think it will be very helpfull to have where to comment. Other thing I would like is a scroll window where you could check what your provinces are building,how many turns remains left, and
how many florins are producing and spending. When you have to many provinces oyu go crazy checking every single one and what they are building.

I think there is still not many things you can do in the strategic map except moving the armies and and managing your provinces, building units. If there was such a build order thing it will be easier, but kinda boring in my opinion. Afterall i like to choose what to build every turn http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Here are some preferences:

The game dump out in a text file the history of the game: every year, the following is added to the log file:
start florin, florin spent to build, florin spent to train, what is started to be built and where, promotion of governor/generals, new heir/princess and attributes, alliance made/changed/withdraw, crusade strength and location, etc.
Currently, I am taking notes of the above in window's notepad. But shifting back and forth between the game and the notepad is a pain, and sometimes, the game just hang.
With that sort of notes, it will be fun to spin a story and post it.

The global report is a good idea. Going through province list all the time is tedious. A large table where many info could be viewed at a glance will help.

Bogdanovist, welcome to the Org. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

That is not a bad suggestion. It would be cool to have an in game advisor pop up with such reminders when appropriate.

@cedric:

Yes, cool. The 'report/overview' was what I was aiming at http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
