Well, after lurking for awhile, i saw this post in the dungeon (about the minimal trade mod) that i thought i could add to..

So i registered, and got the message that i still couldnt post.. Urgh. Well, i'm a moderator on a different forum myself, so i understand measures like these, although this is... tough.. but quite efficient, methinks..

Anyway, if i could be upgraded to normal member sometime soon, well, i'd appreciate it..

Oh, as for verifying my existance as mod (if you'll forgive me for posting this) check; www.fantasy-freak.com/forum/
And click on freaky world.. you'll notice i have the same username there http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Anyway, hi etc.
Greets,

Thanks for decloaking Ranges. I'll have to check and see if we have such a thing as a moderator pass. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif In the meantime, you can post your comments here and I'll copy them over to the appropriate thread.

Okay. This is a reaction to things posted in the minimal
trade mod thread, in the dungeon.

2. So that's one option. The other is to remove trade or limit it sufficiently so as it doesn't impact as greatly on the game. How?

a) Well one could cut down the number of tradable items per province, especially the sea provinces.
b) One could delay the arrival of the merchant improvements to later in the tech tree.
c) OR simply remove trade altogether, which may be a bit drastic.

I'm not a modder myself, but if you can alter the value of individual trade goods, you could make certain provinces have extreme value trade goods, while making most other goods very low value. This way the trade dependent factions can have one very good trading province, while all the other provinces give a much more modest income.

Still, i have no idea if this is possible, but it sounded like a worthwhile suggestion to me.
