Newbie Question: Mod Download for Mongul

I'm sure this is topic is not new.
I'm new to ORG. I tried poking around the DOWNLOAD area,
but I didn't see anything that sounded like waht I wanted.

I know many people have asked this already, so please be patient.

I was hoping to get the files, and simeple directions:
a) copy these files (downloaded)
b) Put them in this folder (c: ...)
c) Start playing the GOLDEN HORDE as a MAJOR FACTION http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Actually you can play as the golden hord by moding the game yourself, but unless you want to mess around with assigning provinces and structures and so on I would suggest you edit the late.txt...

just scroll down untill you find a section where it lists all the factions and weather they are major or not.
All you have to do is find the mongol entry (golden_horde_fn i think)and change it to major really easy...

and remember always back up anything you intend to mod...

Greetings and welcome RobP01. Glad you stopped by for a visit.

Go here (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=2184;st=25) and read the thread. Near the bottom is a post by barocca about a download that allows you to play all minor factions. There is a link to the download. That is the best I could find searching the Dungeon and Main Hall, though it appears some one is working on a full Mongol campaign complete with buildings, etc.

I took the simpler step for now and in the LATE period
made the horde FT_MAJOR (verus FT_MINOR).
I set the game a HARD, and I'm finding that after capturing Lithuania, I'm getting a lot of revolts.
People have told me that since I'm PAGAN, no other faction is going to like me that much and I should use DREAD as
my only tool to keep things quiet. (KILL ALL CAPTURED TROOPS. Before I was just doing kill ringleaders).

We'll see what happens ....

A mongolmod was made, but it's lost when files were moved to the new fileserver.

This mod also allows you to play any faction available in the original campaigns, and has a simple set that unlocks all 20 factions in campaign, custom and online games.
