Greetings.
In the games where I have had to fight dropped (or 'ghost'http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif armies, they are usually the last to take out. Sometimes, the troops remaining on my side are not enought to overthrown the dropped one, especially if one foe join them and prevent flanking moves. Moreover, these troops are still fresh at the end of the battle, and they cannot be killed easily, sometimes they even win the battle without human control http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif.
I know it has been begged to the developers to make the game end when no human opponents are remaining, but that's not the point of this post. I would like to know from you how was your experience with that dropped allies or foes. Well, sometimes they put up a really decent fight http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
In my case, I haven't yet lost to a dropped army, but I used once one as cover for my 3 last units and it worked very well: we won against the remaining tired troops of 3 enemies (yes, a coward move, but hey these were our allies, after all http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)
