Hey, I am seriously considering getting SC4 tommorow, I'm a big fan of the series. I've heard, however, that it takes almost a supercomputer to run it properly. I heard from the Gamespy review that they tried it with a 2.5 Ghz computer with intel pentium 4 and the thing was still lagging pretty bad. I'm worried that my measly 730mhz computer will not be able to handle the gamespeed. I have plenty of free space, just a bit concerned about the speed.

We'll have to wait and see.
I've got a P111, 750Mhz, 512 Ram.
Wonder if I can run it.

I donno, it stalls and slugs down like a snail trying to crawl over salt on my computer when you hit 100K inhabitants in the city, 2.5 Ghz PIV, 640 MBRAM, and the game just isn't that much fun

I'm sorry, I loved all the prior sim city games, but I got bored of it after, well, what is it now, two weeks?

I can't put my finger on it, its good looking, it has everything, but it just lacks that fun feeling, or factor.

Reinstalled MTW instead.. =)

well i got it just the other day.. and well im adicted. As for the lag, ive just lowered a lot of the settings and it seems to run fine... but id sugest 1Ghz of ram, and a top of the line video card

Sim City 4 is an excellent game

My copy is running on a P4 1.8 laptop
with 500+ ram

It works fine, no problems what so ever.....

IMHO it is the memory more than the proc that is important..
