Create new factions

You cant create new factions but you can edit one which is already in the game into the swedish with flags and everything. Tons of stuff about this in the Dungeon.

u can add new factions i think there are those FN_FREE factions but I've never got em to work

As was said, read the pinned topics in the Dungeon forum for many how to topics.

Note Hendon - you need to shrink that beautiful flag in your sig. Here are the guidelines for such images:

-10 kb max.
-no sound.
-max 500 pixels wide, max 150 pixels high.

Hendon: your best bet may be to modify the Danes to be Swedes by altering beginning province, name, flag, etc.

Yes you can create new factions as such but ony by re-using one of the 20 existing factions in order to represent your new faction.

You cannot create new factions using the FN_FREE_01 slots as there are no faction colours associated with these slots.

If you wish to create a Swedish faction then decide which faction you want to base them on and then you'll have to create shields/flags/icons etc and then make changes to the loc/eng/ directory files (names.txt, descriptions.txt etc )

Quite a bit to do.

Hendon, you need a image editing tool like Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. Even Paint has the ability to resize the image. Look for the resize function and reduce the size of height and width so they don't exceed the dimensions 500 wide x 150 high. Save the smaller image under another name and check it's size by viewing the file's properties. If it still exceeds the 10k limit, look for a JPG optimizer or since your picture has few colours, you could reduce the colour depth from millions of colours to 256 colours or something like that.

LOL I know that isn't true The most impressive was a new patron grumbling about not being able to post to the Dungeon because he had praised to sing to King David - who would never see his post in the EH.
