I for one would like to see a Hundred Years War one and a Wars of the Roses add on.
I'd also like to see 'The Ottoman Invasion'. It would start around the late 14th century when the Ottomans began to expand into the Balkans and Eastern Europe. The map would encompass an expanded Eastern Europe, the Balkans and parts of the Middle East. The factions would be the Ottomans, the Byzantines, the Latin states of Greece, Al bania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Wallachia, Moldavia, Hungarians, Bohemia (Hussites), Poland, Cypriots, Hospitalers (Rhodes), Egyptians, Persians and parts of Russia. Also, like the Mongol Invasion, the Tartars under Tamerlane will appear and add to the events. You could get great historical figures such as Vlad Tepes, Skanenberg, Stephen Durstan, Hunyadi, Jan Ziska, Jean De Vallette and Sultan Bayazid (the Thunderbolt)

...hmmmm...hmmmm....don't mind me. I'm just waiting for a modder to show up and tell you that you can mod it yourself.
Hmmmmmm...hmmmm...weekends are slower, you know... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif

I said ADD-ON, not MOD. How the hell can you expect me to mod that

Please elaborate on your 'early.txt...' remark. Tell me how exactly I would go about modding something like this, just out of interest.

How to mod your suggestion? I'm not a modder, but King David modded MTW to play out the era of the Rome Republic and early Empire. I've not been following it closely but from the odd post or two I've seen it is getting quite fancy. There is a ton of topics pinned in the Dungeon forum, all topics with essential information on modding MTW.
As for a true add-on, I think Viking Invasion will be it for MTW.

The Blind King of Bohemia is deeply offended by your remarks, and has considered killing himself.
He sees suicide as a quick way out, and has now indulged in it as a hobby. Slitting one's wrists is quite fun, you know.
If certain people actually listened to the question, I would get a worthwhile response. I asked for your feedback and suggestion on ADD ONS. Did I say Mods? No, I don't think I did and therefore I think you all owe me an apology. Then I might just prepare myself to forgive you. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
Perhaps if you elaborate on what you perceive as the difference between an add-on and a mod is, that would clear up any confusion.

My most humblest apologies Blind King. I did read and understand your question. Many people mod or attempt to mod MTW to suit their own tastes as to what they feel the game should be and I expected a modder to show up and suggest that you just mod MTW to your tastes. The reason modding even came up was because:

If you want a Hundred Years War, War of the Roses (already modded I believe) or the Ottoman add-on, you will (in all probability) need to 1) mod it yourself, 2) talk someone else into modding it for you, or 3) simply wait and hope someone else mods it. Bottom line: it's a mod, mod, mod, mod world. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

If you would like to see this then why don't have a try If you wish to wait for the Vikings add-on then fine. However, you'll only get what you've been given and you REALLY want a different/special kind of mod then the only real answer is to make one yourself.
Can such mods be done? YES
You can create a mod that has -
- a different map with different provinces/names etc
- different units (for the battlefield)
- different shields/weapons
- different buildings/icons and so on
However there are 2 things currently stopping people from building such extreme mods -
1) time
2) enthusiam
If you don't have an abundence of both then don't even bother trying

I've decided to forgive you all.
There's three reasons why I can't mod it:
1) It would take too long
2) You can't beat the official touch
3) I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL I'M DOING
I have a suggestion for CA. Why don't you add on another free patch for MTW instead of asking us to pay for Vikings to get fixes to MTW? You need to show better support for games already published if you want money for new products IMO.
