Can someone upload the files for the Irish and Scottish factions? I understand that there have been people who have created the new factions before and if these people could upload them then they'd be being very nice.

You ask a difficult question. I know some attempts have been made to add the Scots but they haven't been successful. The easy answer, in light of just-breaking-news, is to wait for the Vikings add-on to MTW. Your dreams will come true then.

Dont know about the mods being succesful as sutch but at least irerland and scotland r going to be playable factions in the expansion pack.
I guess im the most scottish devoted scottsman in the community (Gregoshi can testify to that) so i cannot wait to fight alongside my irish friends against the english/vikings/france wat the hell THE WORLD

I wanted to play Ireland and Scotland (in a mod) for the sake of novelty, I don't understand how CA get away with making 'the English' or 'The French' out to be perfectly coordinated nation states but the idea that Scotland or Ireland could be considered as such is a bit much for me to be honest..
What other factions will be in Vikings?

I believe Welsh, Picts, Cornish, Vikings and Northrumbians. I might be mistaken..
So Viking:TW is going to be centred around the British isles rather than Europe and the near East? Awesome, I'll be sure to get this game.
BTW, when is Vikings:Total War out?

BTW, I certainly hope CA fixes the random crashes, etc that it didn't fix with the MTW patch with the new expansion rather than leaves them and creates more..
I just wanted to add that it is not Viking: Total War, but Medieval: Total War Viking Invasion. I just say that, because your version sounds too much like a stand-alone product and Idon´t like those politics of making an addon a fullversion for a full price.(hope this is correct english http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif )

Has anyone realised that, even with the UK and Scandinavia divided up in the new map, there will still be far fewer provinces overall. Will this affect gameplay? Something to think about.

I remember reading somewhere else that the map will be divided up into about 45 provinces so i'ts not really ging to take you five minutes to finish the game.

My fist MOD is actually three mods that will let you play:
1. Scottish
2. Irish
3. The English's worst nightmare, a Celtic Alliance with both.

Phalanx, have you uploaded them to our site? If not are you interested in doing so? There are a bunch of people who would love to play the Scottish and/or Irish.
I remember reading somewhere else that the map will be divided up into about 45 provinces so i'ts not really ging to take you five minutes to finish the game.
Maybe Vinland or the Volga will be included. I hadn't heard about this expansion until today so I'm probably behind the curve.

Still working on the graphics part of it. This is the first time I've worked with BIF files. I have the new unit types added, the setup position for both and all the text based stuff ... its the little flags I'm still working on. Once that's done, I'll be glad to upload it.

You'll probably gets lots of feedback & questions when you do. There have been a number of requests to play the Scotts and a few for the Irish.

to tell the truth, I'd like to play as the Scots and Irish without new units or graphics. I like the game the way it is. Thats just my opinion. Can you make me a version of your mod (Phalax) without those new units or graphics?

HEY i would like a portuguese faction too, we guy rebel a lot but i would like to crush spain and the almoheads... DAM even the puny irrelevant aragones got a faction... and we didn't (we as in the portuguese irish and scotish dudes out there). To portrait Portugal as a faction has even a lot more sense than the spanish. There was no spain to beguin with. There was Leon and Castille, two kingdoms wich where united later. Portugal originated from the rebellious county Portucalense in the kingdom of Leon. After the revolt, in witch we creamed the leonese, we went after the moors (almoheads in the game) and the pope recognized Portugal has a kingdom with Afonso Henriques as king. We took part in the Reconquista (we allied with leon, castille and the puny aragonese), and we fought in the north of africa. We even lost a fool of a young king there... who was killed. Actually his body was found naked in the sand (the almoheads had looted his armour for souvenir)... And imagine what... he had no heirs (sounds familiar doesn't it?) so wars started with royal bloodlines everywhere and this was to lead to a rather unhappy dinastic union with castille wich lasted for 60 years...
Anyway... you can see why i would like my country to be represented in a proper manner (dammit, it that means no more aragonese let them be rebellious freaks, wich they kind are...). Anyway i kinda liked the fact that Ireland, Portugal and Scotland are rebellious... dont know much about livonia though http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

But Portugal always starts off as rebels in all 3 Scripts, don't they?
Ok, maybe they always get there butt's kicked early oin by either the Spanish or the Almohads - but you always tend to reappear as rebels
