Any suggestions why this one wont work here?
probrably because of bandwidth, they don't allow pictures in yur sig.

Archer, you should be able to do what you are trying to do. I don't think you are using the iB codes correctly.
Create a new post and play with the iB codes (help card available under the text window). Do a preview and check the results. Once you have it looking like you want, copy the text and codes in the text window and go to your member profile and signature box, then paste it in there. Don't forget to not submit the post you made to play with. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
BTW, if you are more comfortable with html, there is an iB code for that. I don't know if we have html enabled on these boards, but it could be worth a try.

Grrrrr. I'm going to have to look at someone else's sig to see how they did this. I hope you don't mind my playing with your sig code.

That is the easy part. He's trying to make the image a link as well. The URL and IMG iB codes don't play well together from what I see.

aye currumba, that's way beyond me, cripes it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to put in my sig.. sorry but can't hekp with that.
if he can't do that, why not make a separate pic, and then a seperate link, not the desired effect, but simpler.

U can have fun with my code I dont mind. But its a reference to a web address

I think Flamingtext.com won´t accept direct IB code. You will have to copy the image to your Harddisk, then transfer it to a web hosting site. (geocities..Fortunecity.. etc) then use the command with the address to your web hosting site in between...
Like this:
http://members.fortunecity.com/hillychaos/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/Mytext.gif
(change the < > for [ ] and I would get this) :
http://members.fortunecity.com/hillychaos/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/Mytext.gif
The link to flaming text is also automatically placed in the address, but it is not needed, you can delete it.

sword...my images are still showing. If flaming text deletes them after an hour, the only way to save them is to right click and use the save as option.
Then upload the image to a web hosting site (I use fortunecity.com, it gives you 25mb FREE web space). and then create a link to the image using the IMG tabs.
I will see if my images get deleted soon.

Thanks SD I just tried it a different way I hope it sticks How do I use the free web server?
Shadedredd
02-26-2003, 13:50
Just goto www.fortunecity.com and create a free account, it is quite easy to do. I only use it for storing my photos and web pics, so 25mb should be more than enough.
By the way sword...nice logo. did you create it at flaming text too?

02-26-2003, 15:22
OK AA here goes I have been playing with the code and I am testing something now and have to wait and see if it works the problem is if you do not have a host site or server (which I just did on SD 's advice ,but I will teel you I have found a utilty called the EmotipadII that lets you drag and drop images, smilies ,icons etc. that is how I got my current sig. now I have to see if it sticks. The easy thing about this is you create your logo at flaming text.com do the htp conversion then just drag and drop to the Emotipad II and then drag and drop into your sig box here at the Org I will keep you up to date on how it goes good luck

Aggony..ok, a little easier:
your sig is this:
http://ezb.flamingtext.com/ezb/2003/02/12/flamingtext_com_1045106962_3248.gif
the command is:
You need to replace the < at the front with a [ and the > at the end with a ]...ok?
Problem seems to be that the path to the image is too long.
Code Sample

It´s just a case of understanding the UB code aggony, all i did was copy your original address:
Page
Then I removed the links to flamingtext.com:
http://ezb.flamingtext.com/ezb....248.gif (http://ezb.flamingtext.com/ezb/2003/02/12/flamingtext_com_1045106962_3248.gif)
Then I placed the UB image tags at the front and end (I have to show you using the < > instead of the proper [ ] otherwise Ezboard will try and show a pic that does not exist instead of the text
Glad to have been of help.
