View Full Version : patch crashes the campaigne mode
After I installed the v1.1 patch, I can't play in campaign mode anymore. It would load and crash. Has anyone experience this problem?
Can you uninstall the patch? I tried uninstalling the game and re-installing it. The same problem. I think the patch is leaving some file on my computer so the auto-update.exe in the installation program is automatically updating.

Are you trying to play a new campaign or load a saved one. I remember there were some problems with trying to continue a saved campaign after patching.
Other than that I have not heard of this problem with v1.1.
Have you checked out apothecary forum - might be something in there on it.

Hello decoucy. Welcome to the Org forums.
desdichado brings up a good point. Have you tried starting a new campaign? There were issues with continuing pre-patch campaigns after the patch was installed.
If that isn't it, could you give us more information? Exactly where does the crash occur? After the first battle? While it is loading the saved game? After you press End Turn?
We'll also need some system specs such as operating system (WinXP, etc), cpu, amount of ram, make of soundcard and make of graphics card, and version of DirectX. Did you install any other software, patches or updates between your last good MTW game session and the first one after installing the patch?
See, we don't ask for much. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
Yes, the problem arises when I start a new campaign and load an old campaign. THe red bar on the loading screen goes to full, then instead of showing the campaign map, another red bar appears and it exits to the menu that you get when you press esc while in the campaign mode. After that it crashes back to windows.
my system spec:
athlon4 1.3 running XP
256Mb ram
s3 kwister video card (16Mb)
Everything was working fine before I installed the patch. I don't think I installed anything else.
