View Full Version : Whats wrong w/1.1?

Heres the trouble,
Started a campaign with the Spanish for the first time with 1.1 and when it came time o building ships I had the buildings but couldnt build the ships I was supposed to be able to build so I started over http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pissed.gif. Now I get to 1295 no problems, I build a few foundries and gunsmiths and I cant produce the units I should be able to http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pissed.gif. I know I have all the required building so thats not the problem. This is my first post and if someone could offer me any ides I'd appreciate it.

Seneca, after the patch many units are restricted to an era. So, for instance, you can´t train chivalric men at arms until the start of the high era (1205), and the ships you are trying to make belong in the late era (1321). It is a bit confusing because the buildings are not era related. Maybe you need to download a unit list with era references. I´m not sure if there´s one here at the org but can get one at totalwarassembly.com.

That was the problem, I was thinking because they announce the discovery of gunpowder in 1260 that I would be able to produce gunpowder unit in that year. So I kept playing and in 1321 they became available and everything is good. I'm just a retard http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Hi Seneca and welcome to the Org. You aren't the first, nor will you be the last person confused about the appearance of this or that with patch 1.1. I guess the delay from the discovery of gunpowder to gun is due to people trying to figure out what to do with that magic black powder.
