Crashing Help!

Hi,
First let me say I am aware this is not the best forum, but as I just signed up its the only one available. I have played MTW since it first came out, both single and multi. Never had a big problem playing. I had uninstalled and recently reinstalled the game and added the patch. Now when i play single or multi I will at some point either during the game or in the lobby or connecting to a multi game crash to the desktop with no error message. I have a Gateway http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif Athlon 1.1ghz 512megs RAM Radeon 9000 card. Am on DSL. The Radeon was installed between installations of MTW. Anyone have a clue whats up here? Any help appreciated as I refuse to give up the game.

Welcome Dimeolas
Have you installed the most up to date drivers for your video, and sound cards?
Also, go to the Apothecary, and do a search.
You should get an answer there.

Thx for your reply. The sound card did not change, but will check on a new driver for the video card. Just reinstalled and downloaded the patch again in case something was amiss in either case.

Thank you....those new Radeon drivers seem to have fixed it. Played a full multiplayer game. Resounding victory, nice christening for the new card.

When you consider the excellent game that STW is, and it`s expansion. The upcoming expansion ... Vikings... and the upcoming RomeTW....this has got to be the greatest game of all time. And this company also. I remember the early articles on STW with the developers saying the engine would be used with other periods as well. I`d say they have really outdone themselves.
Question....I am working on some digital artwork related to MTW....would it be appropriate to post it in this forum...or post a link to my website for it?
One last question...I at one point had to reinstall MTW. When I went back to Gamespy I couldnt use my gamename again and had to choose another. Any way of getting it back?

Dimeolas, I think most here will agree with your comments about CA except where support is concerned. I think the vast majority of players would have liked to see 1 or 2 more patches with each game.

As for the digital art, is it original stuff? How close related to MTW is it? Couldn't it just be general medieval art? I think maybe a sample posted here and then a link to your website would be fine, but I'll check with Tosa.

Re: GameSpy, you should be able to use your old name. Are you sure you are just logging in and not trying to create a new account? Also, are you sure you entered your CD key correctly?

I am doing alot of stuff in the Dark Ages/ Medieveal time period. Am thinking of working on some 3D coats of arms etc for players/clans. Scenes in churches and of course castles. Let me know if it`s ok and will post as you suggested.
