Is there anyway to mod this shxx out of the game? It ruins the game just like those cursed Geshai assassins did in STW.

..help please.

Hi chiba
I'm not sure if you can mod civil wars out of the game.
You may want to visit the Main Hall, Table of Contents.
It can show you how to possibly avoid civil wars. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I can't see why they spoil the game, they add a bit of spice

Read the Table of Contents, Revolts.

Chiba,

why would you want to get rid of them. I had my first civil war last night (and my second http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ) playing as russians and while I was screaming at my treacherous generals not to desert me at such a dfficult time (am being bled by Egyptians, Spanish & Hungarians and then the Byz who I have protected for 100 years have center punched me) it is what you should expect.

My empire is in decline (only temporary I hope???) and some dirtbag generals have taken the opportunity for a bit of opportunistic, self-serving, land grabbing. I'd probably do the same in their position - who wouldn't want the chance to become a local warlord.

I can't wait to capture the ringleaders and burn them at the stake though.

have to agree with desdichado. Adds a whole new element to the game, keeping generals loyal etc etc, that a real king surely would have had to deal with. Adds a lot of realism to the game as well, although when civil wars happen, I must admit, I say things to my disloyal generals that would make Mike Tyson scream like a little girl. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

There's a great thread on this topic in the ToC; worth reading. Sometimes that won't help; king goes out of communication, king not smacking enuff enemies of the people, king has to many bad v&v's and no time to get good ones...etc.

Read the distribution carefully. I know I backed the wrong guy once...if I had read the thing properly the civil war would have been short and sweet; ended up losing the game http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif

If all else fails...reload and figure out what went wrong http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Hello chiba. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

I've not had a civil war yet, but it does sound like fun. If you want to avoid them, then snoop around the Table of Contents (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=2273) thread as Toranaga suggested.

I had a civil war once, it brought new life to the empire and brought me a new line of Kings. The old line had been badly plagued by all vice and no virtue for a century.

As for the Geisha ruining STW, I have to say I loved them. Trying to get them trained before your foe was always a goal

In MTW I intentionally do everything I can to provoke civil wars in my enemies lands. Stop their crusades and Jihads, and fill their lands with spies. Great way to shift the balance of power with a minimum of risk.

In my current game as the egyptians the French dominated western, most of central Europe, Northern Spain and the British isles. Now 50 years later, without any loss on my part the french have lost all but the a stretch of land from brittany to Copenhagen, the Brits are back in running, and four factions are fighting for dominance in western Europe, while I'm free to expand and consolidate at my leisure.
