In any of the Total War, did anybody notice that in movies the armys would clash and spread out and there can be an enemy in any direction but in Total War, its one front against the other?

Well I'm just saying(i like the game and all)but its kind of funny how when the guys in the back of the formation would stand there waiting for the guys in front to be dead before getting in. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Actually thats exactly what they would do... The difference between hollywood and the real stuff is the fear of getting killed/hurt. Pikemen/spearmen formations did not engage into all out melee. Real soldiers allways like to have flanks and rear guarded by friends. This is true even in today warfare to an extent. No general likes to have enemy pokets on its rear to deal with...
