Herodotus had a really good idea a while back ago. He decided to begin a game as the English and play only until the King died. He would then send the game to another person, who would repeat the process.

This idea is languishing. That is the plain truth. Muneyoshi, while finished with the game, has yet to post his reign. I am do not know if he tried to e-mail the game to Barocca but I am certain I know what would happen if he did. As of yesterday Barocca's e-mail was filled to capacity; it could not accept any new e-mail. That makes things a little complicated. Not only are the current and future kings unable to advance the game, they are being silent with respect to what impedes them. The idea will die if the throne remains vacant for very much longer. I would be very disappointed as it would be akin to reading a really good book with no ending. So, here is what I propose:

Muneyoshi: If you indicate here that you are ready, willing, and able to transmit the game then we will wait 24 hours to allow Barocca to respond and indicate that his e-mail account can accept the message. If he does not respond, e-mail the game to the next person on the list. (Keepah@hotmail.com)

Dr. Appleton: If Muneyoshi responds, then there is really nothing for you to do. If Muneyoshi does NOT respond within 24 hours, assume that the above instructions that were given to him apply to you.

Barocca: All you have to do is respond and indicate that your e-mail account has the space to accept the game and, based upon the above, SOMEONE will e-mail it to you.

I am not in the habit of issueing decrees. Be advised that what I have written is a proposition. If someone involved in the situation has a problem, please state it. If no one has a problem with this, then I guess this is the course of action.

If NONE of the three people singled out respond, then I would assume that the idea is dead.

Demon of Light - I agree with your proposal. Before you posted this thread, I'd e-mailed you, Herodotus, Barocca and Muneyoshi trying to get things moving.

If Muneyoshi and Barocca do not reply, I will post the save game to keepah@hotmail.com at the end of my reign this time tomorrow. In the event that happens, I propose that Barocca has the right to become next in line at any point as he seems a very responsible mod and presumably is just temporarily out of touch.

I think it is also implicit in the idea behind this thread that all Kings post an account of their reign and a screen shot.

Well... I guess now we wait.

I'm trying to track down Keepah. He last posted about 7 hours ago so that means that he still pops his head in from time to time. Efram da King indicated in an e-mail that he considers himself out of the running but HopAlongBunny indicated that he would take the game so at least one person is available to continue this.

Strangely, I haven't seen barocca in at least a week(?). I'll attempt to contact him and see if he is still available.

I've not heard a word from barocca in over 3 days now. Very uncharacteristic of him. I guess you can write him off for now. Maybe he can jump in again later when he resurfaces.

I don't mean to sound morbid but if Barocca were to die, how would anyone know? (come on,Barocca; if you don't return soon you'll find us talking about you in the past tense. If you really are dead, RIP)

P.S: I realize that a packed schedule is the likely culprit but ...well... I'm remembering a news story I saw once.

He (Barocca)still hasn't popped in since February 16. You're (Gregoshi) part of his clan. Seen him? Heard from him?

This idea sounds like fun (more than one person playing a campaign and adding their own flavour to it). And as much as I would not like to think about it, I too have thought about what would happen if some fate befalled me, and I was not around to post/play anymore. Would my girlfriend think to post on my behalf as I would hope she would....being the only other person who knows I even am part of this community? I would hope so. Well....I'm interested in the afforementioned campaign idea...eventhough I'm a WHOLE lot better at the battle side, compared to the campaign side. And the other part....well best not to think of it. Hope this post is uninformed and Barocca has returned in my ignorance.

I'm not actually insinuating that he is dead. It is important to state that explicitly. I only comment on his absence and the POSSIBILITY that might explain it. In all seriousness, he probably isn't deceased but he may have abandoned his online activities so as to tackle his real life commitments. I'm curious to know what repercussions that may have.

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Although this may seem scripted as to the proximity of the comments (which has been done already here http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif )and their relative importance...just wanted to say that I figured that. Just wanted to comment on the subject, as it has been something I have thought about. Only was interested in doing so because the idea of the campaign intrigued me. If there were some way to track the different methods of progress by each individual member, it would be interesting to see.

If the campaign idea interests you, go to page 2 of Entrance Hall and read the King of England threads.

DoL, I did hear from barocca yesterday and he is interested if the campaign is still going. He expects to get back to the Org within the week.
