when i tried to wait to select an other day for battle ie weather bad... then i cannot see the wood anymore become just square form with cloud and sky in it of some kind????BIZARRE

Welcome DAUPHIN you can only post in the entrance hall for now because you are a junior patron, do not fret after a few posts you will be promoted and your privileges will extend to the other areas of the org. I have heard of this problem you are having , as a matter of fact in the apothecary right now a thread exists with this same problem I will look into that, meantime can you tell a little about your system, Video card, OS etc. that will help in finding a solution. Yes welcome http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Have you tried just choosing the first day possible and see what happens? Not that it will solve your problem, but might give insight into the problem itself. Like previously mentioned, it would help to give info on: your operating system, your video card, and any other info you might think will help, such as audio card (which causes more problems than you might think), your online connection (ex dsl, cable, 56k....since your problem is an online one, although 99.9% sure its not because of connection). There are a host of people that could help. Just make sure your firmware is updated, and it will help along the process of helping you, as many times one of the first questions asked is whether or not your firmware is updated http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif . Hope you figure it out soon.

First of all thanks to all that have answered my problem.
Gregoshi,aelwyn,the sword of storm.
my pc is a HP Pavilion 8800,850 mhz,20.4 gb,180mb sdram,with a crapy Pro Savage video card s3,16 mb.
but so far i have managed to play games that should have required better, the problem is on MTW, by the way what a great game
on a battle map,if i select the first day all is well,but as soon as i change it ,TROUBLE...i get some pretty funky grahics :trees,wood
this occure on single player aswell as multi.
I still manage to enjoy most of the game except for that.
and the fact that i play multi on 56k so i am stucked with 1/1 game otherwise lag is too much.
I have patch 1.1 and directx 9.
I truly enjoy MTW i think some serious investment in a new video card has to happen soonby the way any idea on which video card compatible with my system?

FOr the video compatibility, you need to check open slots on your board: either AGP(1x, 2x, 4x, 8x) or PCI. If you have them, then technically any card will work.

Savage is, as you said, in time for a longer vacations. I personally would suggest getting Radeon 9500 pro, or if you are on the budget, the 9000 pro. I have 9500 pro and could not be happier. 9000 is also a nice choice, I just upgraded a friend's PC with it...

vid card and drivers. the pro savage is NOT a supported card, if i remember correctly. get a new card or new drivers for it. you might have to use older drivers even.

what you've got is a refresh/texture/old card/directx 9.0 problem. you're running an older card, a fairly recent game, and a brand new directx. compatibility here is the problem and you sort this out with drivers. you may have to even tweak the drivers yourself with a driver tweaking program, though i dont know of one for your specific card.

problems like this used to occur for the old voodoo3 cards in newer games. the technology just isnt the same and sometimes drivers can sort it out and sometimes not.

now, i'm JUST going by memory here, so i could be all wet. but the problem is vid card matchup, i'm pretty sure.
