Hi all,
This is a post started back at the The TotalWar.com forums (http://pub24.ezboard.com/fshoguntotalwarfrm7.showMessageRange?topicID=127.topic&start=61&stop=80). I have improved three tools to help with the development of units, buildings in a unified way and developed a tool for the creation of the Era files.King David has posted the initial files in The Dangeon for the Patritian thread.
The ones in th einitial post had a number of bugs that came from the grabing of files that were under development in the monent. Any way here are the files.
The unit tool (http://users.otenet.gr/~timoleon/unit-tool.zip)
The campaign tool (http://users.otenet.gr/~timoleon/campaintool.zip)
The last generates the official Early Era but with the burgundians in the game and all exept the Pope as major.
I have tried to incert more but what I get is an empty map http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif If any one can fined the problem pease help
The equivalent files for the Patritian are next http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hi,
Nice to find other Hellenes around isn't it? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif Also any serious person that has spent some time abroad is definitely not an Olimpiacos fan http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif .
Last night I made a brake though... I have finally figured out the coordinate files for the shields and did some excellent shields for all four my Hoplites (Ificratian, Spartan, and Sariza). I have built a tool to help calculate them but that is to be tested. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Kominos,
I wrote a quick utility for 'flip' - specifically for amending shield positions for the units in the Patrician mod.
It was never released as a general utility because I can neither upload nor download from the 3downloads currently being utilised by The Org.
If you want the latest version of this utility (which offers far more that the versionI E-Mailed 'flip'http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif then let me know and I'll E-mail it to you. It contains the necessary routines/maths/algorithms required to amend MTW shield positions. Obviously you can utilise this code (if you wish) for your own utility.
regards,
Welly

Thanks,
You can send it timoleon@otenet.gr if you wont I can upload it to my web space there.
Do you have exactly the function of the values in the shield and weapon files? I am making an Exel file that will calculate many things automatically

I am nearly ready to make the unit-tool-patr to ver-1.2 this will aplay to the Patrician mod. It will come in two versions an lg and a sm. There difference is that lg will use 200 men units (read Extreme Unit Sizes) while sm at 100.
I am trying to find a way to built the ship stats in a meaningful way. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do it? If you have downloaded the tool for the WTM you can see how I calculate it there BUT I am not happy with it plus many things change in this Era.

To all that have downloaded the Campaigne tool. I has a bug and the result is an empty map
The problem is in the calculation of the age of Heirs
You don't have to download a new version BUT go to the Leaders sheet and make the function =1+INT(13*(1-RAND()))
Thanks

hello there,
thanks for the tools Is there any way that you can come up with a decent flag and colors for the Byzantines so as to rectify this pathetic purple that makes no historical sense whatsoever?
I am talking about the Golden Double-Headed Eagle on DARK RED, the Byzantine military flag that we all know. Thanks in advance.

Greetings to my fellow Hellenes http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
i am not much into moding but efstratios has a point. How about a 'Buzantium Restored' mod with 1)proper colours 2)proper names 3)better 'themata' distribution 4)proper units ( i think people have done this allready) ?

Well, yes and no,
If you get the unit-tool I have rectified this. You need to turn the Byz-inf into a spear / good unit, give the kataphrakts a shield and reduce them to barded. I have also made a staff slinger unit for my self which are excellent missile and turn the tepezund arch in to a good, foot_meel unit.
As for the flag ... I think I would get the Novgorode and turn the cyan part in to porfira (dark red) thing is ... with the en touto nika thing you have to have a cross either over or in the flag ... this puzzles me ...

Komninos,
Does this unit tool contain instructions for how to Mod units? I'm a newbie to the game and this board, so I had some questions about how to do the mods.
Thanks
ps Wasn't able to extract the files yet, that's why I'm asking...

Not many ... but is self explanatory ... you 'll see. The main thing is DON'T TUCH THINGS WITH FUNCTIONS IN THEM http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Your main work will be done in the Unit Def, Attributes, and Ships.
In the crusaders_unit_prod11 you can change some stuff but don't unless you know what you are doing.
With it and folowing the example of ready made new unit you can also add units to the game. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Remember after you save the crusaders_unit_prod11 sheet as a tab delimited text file to enter the crusaders_unit_prod11.txt and replace the with . This goes for all of my tools.
