Enlight me please:honor, updates and general bonus, what\'s the mathema

Looking at F1 while in battle screen, my guess is as follows (Well, I know the game is so old that this probably has been gone over so many times before, but I looked through manuals and browsed over the internet, and found no answer. So please help me out, guys.)

1) It seems to me that each honor is worth HALF point boost on both the attack and defense factor.

2) Weapon updates count as a FULL point increase on the attack factor on each level?

3) Armor updates count as a FULL point increase on the armor factor on each level?

4) Generals gives HALF POINT HONOR bonus on his troops on each rank they gain. The status shows that 2st and 3nd rank generals enjoy one point of honor bonus, while 4th and fifth 2 points; and sixth 3 points. But intuitively their should be a diffrence between, say rank 4 and rank 5 generals.
For the tones in the description are definitely diffrent(e.g. "some success", "leaning well", "become famous", "legend", etc).

Hehe, last night, I was "training" the eldest son of Mori on expert level so that he could face Uesugi Shengin someday (who wiped out Tekeda early on and was contesting with Hojo right now): Empty the province with port and castle next to that ronin island, they attacked with one unit, bring 4 out-dated units with my taisho in; ronins got chicked out and ran into the castle like there was no tomorrow, auto resolve the castle assult; rinse and repeat. Reached level 6 pretty fast. Now the hordes from the east don't look as intimating as before.

I think you mean Uesugi Kenshin. Shingen is Takeda.

Increasing honor by +1 alternately increases attack and defense value by +1, and I believe it increases morale by +2. So, an increase in honor of +2 increases attack by +1 and defense by +1, and increases morale by +4.

Increasing Weapon by +1 increases attack value by +1.

Increasing armour by +1 increases defense by +1 and armour by +1.

Increasing general's' rank by +2 increases his whole army by +1 honor.
