Stupid mistakes are a killer, consistency is what most of us need most. Last night I played three back to back games where the generalship just flowed. You guys ever have those nights when you can do no wrong? And those when nothing goes your way? Just wondering about luck, personal momentum, etc.
Seems like in real life you need to see what is `really` happening, `cause if you misinterpret the battlfield and react wrongly you are dead.

My generalship always flows...right off the battlefield.

I've never had a night where luck stayed in one direction or the other, but i've definitly had a year or two here and there in game where it did. Like a year where you lose two allies who begin ripping apart your trade routs, your kings dies leaving only a 53 year old brother as heir, and someone(usually the French) seems to have a whole battle go in their favor and they take your main province.

Course, it can go the other way too, where you can catch a king and all his heirs on the attack and behead them there. Or getting a really good defensive position. Had a mountain with two steep inclines as the only approach on defense early, my catapults and archers slaughtered them. But most times its just the usual ebb and flow of an Empire which I can deal with, even an inbred drunken King full of his own pride can be turned around in time.

Thats what keeps this game interseting in single and multiplayer.....the variety. And when you have allies you never quite know what will happen.

i have had matches online where for a few days everything you do goes right even against good players and other days where you just cannot beat anyone. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif but it keeps it interesting
