*How do you like my strat?

Well, i just want some response in how my strategy is...(=

I play on expert settings, and i hardly ever fight the battles myself... i usually start in the early times, and i play with France, England, Germany or Spain....

This is my france strat;

First i start of with building boarder forts in all my provinces (get happiness so i can pick max taxes).

Then i pick 3-4 provinces were i got a high farm income, and go with full farms...

I pick 2-3 provinces to go heavy boat building....

Then i try to aim for feudal knights in atleast 3 provinces...

Once i get a good amount of boats i max trade in all my trading provinces...

the first 50 years i hardly attack other provinces... i try to get a few easy ones and kick england back to their island... I also try to bribe myself a nice province or 2..(=

Once ive built up a nice trade route and a nice army of Feudal knights(most of these), Halbardiers, and some Chivalric Sergeants..I start expaning by attacking england or germany....

once i get switzerland there is only one thing to do...get the games best unit, the Swiss Armoured Pikeman, takes out anything

By now i should have a place or two were i can train chivalric knights.... then i build up a LARGE army of those, feudals and SAP`s.... then the world is mine...(=

With england there is two superb units i allways use Billmen (Insane good&#33http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif and longbows....

I Find it strange that u do not get eaten by your neighbours in the begining and a army consisting of only knigths aint that brilliant, the msot common enemy units are spear units.

In the med-game/late when the real attacking starts:

SAP`s can take out everything else, nothing can match those...(= use them against other spears and heavy cavalery...

my feduals go to kill archers and light infantry, and my chivalrics go on the heavy infantry and light cavalery..(=

if you start in early and focus on building up trade....you become so rich you can build or do whatever you want. The actual units matter little as you can just swamp any foe with your near unlimited money. Try a mod that gives the AI real naval power or try faction that is not normally playable. Kicking the crap out of a weak AI gets old pretty fast.
good mod here. A bit over done but really fixes some of the AI's glaring faults.

I would not build the same type of buildings at a time, but combine them. What about castles? A strong castle makes a single unit sufficient to defend a province, freeing other units which you can use where you really need them.

I don't know for sure, but as a player who plays some battles and autoresolve some others, I have a feeling that the quality of troops is not so important in autoresolved battles, where the computer seems to rely more on their number. Just my opinion, I might be wrong.

What do you do for having such rich provinces and not being attacked for so many years? Almost all my neighbours gang up on me attacking my richest provinces

Well, i allways keep an eye on my enemies if they move enough troops to take on of my provinces in the next turn, then i move most of my troops against their boarders... as u said, numbers do often count... i allways(in the start) train troops in all my provinces, unless i can only train peasents...

Its not often that I have less troops then any of my neighbours... its to dangerous...

what i do is to try to get myself a nice income and at the same time keep a good army... i don`t build buildings such as Citadels, metalsmith, cancellery, dockyard, brothels etc. before my income/trade is great... (=

Correct me, but the swiss pikes need the hudge castle (citadel?) and are available in late only now? By that time you are eiter dead or you won and the game is over.

Also, I cannot imagine that on hard you can sit tight and not be attacked long enough to have the armies of which you talk about and nice income. Feudal knights take 105 (?) upkeep each year, you have ten of these and this is 1000, not including other units and needs you might have....

Also, is 50 years enough to prepare army for a conquest on hard http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

well, hello fellow norwegian but i must ask you one thing, in the 50 years that you built yourself up, didnt you get attacked by none of the major powers? Aragon is the little bugger on your nothern flank, and the border to germany is quite a threat have played france sometimes in early and aragon no matter what attacks toulose sooner or later shortly germany follows
