Maybe a stupid question, but did you register at gamespy?

make sure you ave gamespy set up and have the gamespy username exact and also it doesnt recognise _ also type the cd key in capitals

Welcome slayer. Could you tell us a little more? First off, what game are you talking about, MTW or STW? If MTW, do you have your GameSpy account setup and how are you connecting - via MTW or through GameSpy?

mtw and i think i have my gamespy set up right i connect through da multiplayer on mtw

Make sure you don't have any spaces in your name, but otherwise phone em up. I had the same problem and they got me through it quite quickly and easily. Best of luck m8y.

Also, can you log into your GameSpy account via GameSpy?

you can actually have everything set up correctly, cd key, gamespy account and so on, and still get this error. i've gotten this a few times even though at other times i get in just fine. it can be something on gamespy's end of things. if you're really in doubt, give them a holler. we recently had someone else have this problem and he contacted gamespy and they confirmed that it was on their end.

Yes, Gamespy has issues.....I was unable to play online for about a day. But it straightened itself out. If it goes more than a day check their forum and email support. They should get back to you in a couple days.
