Just started playing, need help!

Hi I just started playing this game and it wont let me get past where it says Logged in What patches do I need(This is M:TW btw). Any help is appreciated, thanks

You probably want the 1.1 patch, available from our downloads section, also available (and an easier download)from GameSpy. You have registered at GameSpy, right? They host our multiplayer games, so you need to.

Are you talking about MultiPlayer? Are you using the MTW service or GameSpy? Give us some more info if you still need help.

Im registered w\gamespy and Medieval is the game. Ill go look at the download section on the front page

also remember if you want to use the Medieval browser you need to have your username in gamespy the same as you put in at the CD key screen

Thanks for the info I won my first battle in a 3v3, but what is the 2nd shield for? I didnt understand that.

do you mean at the faction selection the little gray shield?
Well that is the faction colour choice, say you are england (always popular) and someone is already red (or is that the shield, if so that is their colour) click on gray shield and you will get a choice of faction colours to choose from, Pick one and you will be that colour instead

Cool, so I can have my army in any color that remains in the gray shields?

Yes but the colour also denotes your position on the map. The first flag(Almohads) is centre and then the rest go left to right on start positions. This is only applicable in more than 1 v 1 matches obviously

Yeah, I got a lot of my experience because I kept picking the Almohad colors to make my army look cool. I later found out that it was the same reason I was always getting stuck in the center position.

Question again. Is there a ladder for Medieval?

No, no official ranking system exists.
