i think in the WE the alliances are sealed much better... for example.. i had an alliance with Uesegi and i attacked Imagawa a few seasons later... then, i get a message from Uesegi that he cancelled HIS alliance with Imagawa because war broke out between me and him! bitchin'!

Totally agree on the fact that the alliances mean something now. I received quite a few messages about choosing between Takeda and Imagawa - tough choice it was not.

I have not broken any of the alliances yet http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif So it will be interesting to see how the loss of honour thing goes.

I used my Geisha to kill Shimazu and Takeda in the same season, and I was allied to both, but all of their lands went to Oda. Some things never change. Talk about create a monster http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

yeah well Uesegi informed me that because i attacked Imagawa, that made OUR alliance impossible.... at least you he didn't break it byt attacking me! :P

I was actually able to get some time to play it with the Expansion pack yesterday while I was home from work. It was very early in the game, and I was allies with Oda and Mori. Well they went to war, and I think it was Oda that sent an emissary telling me to choose sides. That I couldn't be allies with both. I thought that was cool. Then later when I invaded an Ronin province Oda sent in a small army to help.
