That part would be incorrect. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Hi Preyer, and welcome to the.Org.

So you seek a full campaign map, without any players on it, just the provinces named? I don't think we have that, but I'll give a look.

(i'm not too sure of the directory, if i'm wrong just do a search)
medieval-total war/texture/campmap/MapTex.tga

MapTex2.tga => is the same map but larger resolution.
i don't think you will be able to find it on the net, the smalest picture is like 9 megs

USMCNJ is right about the size; I got the 9MB .tga image compressed down to about 400kb in .jpg format, using PaintShopPro, but when zooming in, the province names are a bit blurry. I assume Preyer wants an image he can print to standard paper. Maybe I can break it up into quarters, and he could paste the 4 sheets to cardboard, etc.

I tried to make one, but I couldn't get the colors to stay the way I wanted them. They would get a lot of speckles. I sent an email to JASC (the Paint Shop Pro people), and they said that the only types where that wouldn't happen would be an uncompressed TIF (which would end up to be very large) or a PSP. JPGs lose detail when they are saved over and over. Anything compressed will do that, since each save compresses the already compressed graphic. I was trying to do the same thing that I did for STW, but I gave up. Too many other things to do.

Thx guys

KukriKhan, if you wouldn't mind mailing me that .jpg format map you were talking about, I would really appretiate it. I don't know what's the standard paper in USA (I'm in Europe) but I thought using single A3 format sheet for printout. (that would be about 11.5x8.3 inch)

I looked around in other forums, but I couldn't find an answer on this one: does higher honour make any difference when firing in MTW? It didn't in SWT as I recall.

Thanks in advance

Glad to Preyer. Since your email is hidden (even from me) shoot me an email at jim@jimcee.com
with subject: Campaign Map; I'll reply with that PSP image. Do you want me to try the 4-piece idea as well? Sort of depends on what you want to do with it.

I reduced the TIF and had an image processing package that printed it out on 4x A4 sheets, then stuck them together... then proceeded to spend the rest of the campaign manually drawing on the province boundaries as I explored the map http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Probably the long way to go about it, but it's very useful, as I can now see at a glance (stuck it on the wall above the monitor) what provinces border what and what their trade goods/special military units are. I only had a greyscale printout, but still does the job.

Hehe PSP is for the weak http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Use Photoshop. You'll never have these kinds of problems.

photoshop is the best. I used photoshop to make a file that has a leyer for every faction. If you select to view this leyer you see all the troop advantage provinces that are relevent to that faction. There also layers for income generated by each province, trade goods, and manufacturing goods. The file is like 30 megs. I run it on my labtop while i play so i can hit my enemy were it hurts.
