Its not a problem camels are the counter for cavalry they are slower moving and not as good as cav against foot troops, so they balance out quite nicely http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Yeah, sadly those stinky beasts make even warhorses blush after first contact. Even 80v80 downhill, attacking a flank, I've had to use follow-on spearmen & move the horses elsewhere after their initial shock.

Hope your house survived your rage http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Against the camels, the only thing that will get you an advantage is the charge, and the Templars are not the best cavalry for that. If you must use horses against camels, make sure you are using cavalry with an Irresistible charge.

Do you have access to horse archers in this campaign? If so, they can really harm camels. Camels lack armor and speed.

...

I've seen 2 units of lancers beaten by camels while they frontally charged the camels&in the rear. That's why I love camels, just got to know how to upgrade&use them http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif.

They die patheticly to infantry though... (hint)

Ah, camels, the sailors of the desert....

I find it hard to image that 1v1 battle like that would end up with the templars routing. Maybe there was something more in action, like high star general or giant morale bonus?

aahhh desert, your heavy templars may have been exhausted too, but still, even if it were lush terrain and templars were fresh, they'd still lose http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif.

BTW, Mithrandir what upgrades are good for camels? I thought it was best not to give them armour cause of the fatigue. And I dont think there is any iron in provinces for weapons where you can train Camels?

I was talking about Multiplayer http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif.

They always need as much valour as possible, since their moral sucks, an additional weapon upgrade is nice too http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif.

But Valour is the most important one.
