With no intention to flame, I encourage non-grey wolves and non-fearful ways members to vote and post about this. I hope for informative analysis of both of the clan's muscles, such that if there's a betting on the match, I hope this thread to be a good resource for ppl to help with their decision http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif.
THOUGHTS ON THE GREY WOLVES
Grey Wolves is 2001 HABA winner for Most Feared Clan Award, and home to very skilled players. It's a very competitive-minded clan (if not the most compeititve). In 1v1 with many wolves' member, I experienced way more losses than wins in a 1v1 match against most of their members ,iirc magyar, paolai, nashwan,ad lordted, if I standardize myself as the average-joe player, you can get the picture what kind of players the clan has. In 2v2, their team-play is by far the most refined and solid I've ever seen, not only they know how to support each other but they complement it nicely with a very well coordinated baiting & trapping movement (i.e using generals to trap).A manouver that's easy to plan, but very hard to execute neatly in practice. In a big 4v4 match, although I have not yet experienced it firsthand, I've heard a story where the wolves excellently routes one enemy army and then steers that army to route the rest of enemy armies. The Grey Wolves is also famous for the excellent use of cavalry-archers and this skill would be a great asset in fighting the Fearful-Ways.
THOUGHTS ON FEARFUL WAYS
Fearful ways is a clan with long history, runner up of 2001 HABA for Most Feared clan and home to players with great honour. The clan seems to be less-competitive minded compared to the wolves as I see not many of their members host 1v1 battles in the foyer. I have been playing 1v1 with AMP and NC, and never won any against them, but with only 2 players compared to the 4 players in wolves I've played 1v1 with, it's too early to draw conclusions about the clan players' individual capabilities. I have also seen that one of their most senior member Elmarko is getting too indulged with playing with fun army such as 16 all missile army in 4v4 matches, hence I'm doubtful if he can still play competitively http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif. In 2v2 I have had the chance to play with AMP-Bong or Bong-Simbol combo, and they have exhibited a very great teamwork in supporting each other with slightly less mark compared to the wolves, as i've not seen them using any exotic techniques (as far as balanced army is concerned). In 4v4 FearfulWays' performance is tricky to judge, as most of the time AMP uses all cav army which makes his teamm8s seem to be there just to support him. With only this kind of play to see, I'm unable to make any comment on teamwork except to say "It's allright" http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/redface.gif. Also be aware that if the clan war belt rule of 2 unit max is enforced, it would defenitely make amp's army less effective.
With the facts that I've seen and heard about both teams, I would like to say that the wolves has more edges. Fearful's X-factors however may turn the odds to them, such as if elmo is still as good as he used to be http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif, or if amp's balanced army skill isnt rusty yet, and so on. All-in-all, I am not so concerned with these X-factors, with competitive and determined-to-win mind complemented with great skill the wolves will overcome these x-factors and win. If there's a betting, I would still put my money on the wolves.
