Acquiring Honour

Has anyone noticed that with the new expansion that getting honour is damned hard. I was playing as ODA where he starts with one province and damned small income so I was producing a lot of Ashigaru. A couple of battles with monks (the Ronin are VERY agressive now!!! ) and I was still not getting any honour? This is Ashigaru taking on Monks with decent kills? I regularly saw battles with 10 or 12 units having won the battle and not one of those units had gained any honour?
This is strange.

I at first thought there was something to this.. I dunno.. I've had instances in which I would've been expecting to get some honor and got jack, and then I've had others in which I was indeed quite happy with the gains I made.. I dunno, seems as if it has been tweaked, but not too badly..

..for instance: h0 archers used to commonly gain honor within their first few volleys EVER. It used to be pretty easy to up an h0 unit in general (sorta made sense-- the lowest level of skill is the easiest to surpass). But things don't work this way anymore, and perhaps this is the only change. Quite possibly the game designers rethought their concept of honor, and adjusted certain things accordingly.

You could possibly be right on this. The new MI seem to be a little more stingy when awarding honor.
Also what about promoting generals, I started a campain trying to use one general in most of my battles. I managed 67 victories, and only recieved a rank 0f 7.

This is the info I was given on another topic:
1 win rank 1 = honour + 0
2 win rank 2 = honour + 1
4 win rank 3 = honour + 1
8 win rank 4 = honour + 2
16 win rank 5 = honour + 2
32 win rank 6 = honour + 3
64 win rank 7 = honour + 3 , etc.

So your rank seems right. You need a lot of wins to get higher.
