Does anyone know if there are any "rules" to which ally inherits land of a wiped out clan? (Daimyo and heirs both killed) I know I inherited a few times in the original, but I am yet to ever inherit lands in the expansion single player campaign even though I make alliances and keep them much more frequently now. Does anyone know if they are random, set by difficulty, determined by oldest ally?

On the diplomacy parchment each clan is listed with their ally in the order the alliance was made.If another clan is listed before you, they will inherit first.I have inherited a couple fringe provinces in MI when playing as Takeda.Unfortunately they were cut off from any reinforcements from me,and I was too poor to build a port to rescue them at the time. They did hold out for several years though, but were wiped out in a revolt. The cool thing is that after a few seasons they reappeared as loyal Takeda retainers in another revolt.I got to use them to harrass my rival for a few seasons, till he killed them all.It was kind of like a surviving heir of a wiped out clan making a come back.Unfortunately they usually don't last long.I like this feature, adds some realism to the game.
