Heh heh heh. I started Mori over again. As usual, in the first turn, I gave the royal boot to Takeda. Very quickly, I had a foot hold on the island, and I know, just know that Mr. Hojo himself is readying his hoast rubbing his grubby little hands together.

I know that Oda is going to throw everything he has at me. Why? Because I am the player. Why else? So, secretly from day one mwhahahahah, I start to create the "ODA" slobber knocker porcupine, an army designed for one purpose, heh heh, screwing over Oda as royally as possible. Well, the campaign advances, Shimazu sucks up for peace, I agree so I don't have to fight a war on two sides, though when I should invade is another question.

After getting a decent army roughly 700 men, I invade Oda with my main forces, keeping this one hidden for a bit. As soon as I have my first victory, the hidden army comes through the captured turf, and promptly exits via the other side (:P) Oda turf. Then, they parade around Oda territory, usually in his "soft underbelly" and destroy any structures I come across. If I don't fully get them, then I come back a bit later when he has recaptured it.

Heh heh, this tactic has reduced is expanding economy, send his guys running around like they were chickens with their heads cut of, and furthermore, got my Diamyo to Rank 6. I limped back to Harima to 12 guys, but Oda was not very happy with me.

Now, if only I could do that to Hojo. The problem is that just one of his icon armies represents 16 units, and there are flocks of them, literally. You know you are deep corporal by-products when he has more than enough 16 unit armies to cover the entire province, obscuring it from view completely.

Yep things are a little different now.

Played Mori on normal. Spanked Takeda out of the west fast and the rest along with him in a short period of time. Stoped up to Wakasa,Tamba, and Kawachi, and dug in with a good sizable force.

Some how Takeda got stong again, and was haven a hell of a time pushen his wieght around with the other clans in the east

Built up full complete army, snuck a few shinobis and ninjas all the way behind Takeda to Mutsu. Then landed my large army there.

It was like dropping a regiment of comando paratroopers behind enemy lines(being an ex paratrooper myself), then proceded to do some damaging area interdiction. Destroying his means of supply.
Takeda was really getting his panties in a knot over this one.
He started sending his armies back to try and fix what i had done.
After i finished my tour slashing and burning, I based my one army on a bridge province close to Matsu, and dug in there.
Takeda was throwing every thing he could at me. Mean while, I advanced my armies from the west easily because Takeda had weakend his front.

My boys at the bridge were hangen in there pretty good, but getting desperate.Started taken lot a casualties Was getten like the British 1'st para bat at Arnhem. But the ending ended a whole lot different,my whole army arived in time and spanked Takey for good........Okay okay I'm getting carryed away and your probibly all half asleep by now, but my point is that these port landings have really changed the strategy of the game a whole lot
.....And I likes it. nothin like gettin behind your enemies lines ta really screw him up.

My first Diamo lived to a 102. got the TGA ta prove it.

Raging Rodent & Clink:

I am just wondering if you know any of the acclaim (well, acclaimed here) Maltz's war stories. They are beautifully written and an exercice of logistics of great help when you need an edge. You can go to the .org site and click on Maltz's war stories (can someone provide the link please ?). If you do know of them then I haven't said anything

Check hte strategy archive as well.

as to port landings personally i hate them, not realisitc iMO that you should be able to land a major force against no resistance in the enemies rear, but each to their own http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif. a flying colmn can be a good way of strengthening another clan if you can get it through, smash through to say Oda's eastern border as Mori, and soften up the other provinces for Takeda and Imagawa to take.
