View Full Version : Yet another Glitch
Province loyalty
You press SHIFT and you can see how loyal your provinces are.I have the Eastern half of Japan and all my provinces where Green when loyalty was checked.
Suddenly in a single shot 5 provinces suddenly rebelled.
Also when SHIFT pressed after this still shows the provinces as green even though i can rebel armies in each??
Hach
sorry
should say i can see rebel armies in each province.
hach
Sounds like somebody did a shinobi job on you... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
Yeah supershinobi with no gradual decline'just wham bam thank you mam.
And even after the event we'll still show the provinces as loyal.

You mean after the rebel armies have conquered the provinces?
Or after the rebel army has appeared?
And why is this a game-killing bug?

Hach,
when using a shinobi... you aim for an immediate effect....
5 or 6 in one turn (or more)... lowers a provinces loyalty by 150+%....
If a player has 10-15 shinobi... it is not too hard to reduce province loyalties... I can revolt 4 computer provinces/turn with a dozen shinobi, even though the computer may have 400 soldiers throughout those 4 or 5 provinces that I am targeting.
as for the loyalty still above 100%... Not completely sure...

Hach, did your daimyo just die?
That is a possibility my daimyo did just die.
But my loyalties were still over 100% and why did the provinces show as green?
Zen i appreciate your arguments about the Shinobi'but all provinces rebelling in the exact same shot?
Perhaps the daimyo dying triggered that'but then why do they still show green as loyal to me'but are rebelling and have rebel armies in them?
Hach
no no, you got it all wrong, those were just very loyal rebels...

Hach,
I hate to say this, but you haven't been paying attention... Others have reported the same thing.
By any chance, did you save the game or have it still saved right before the death of your daimyo??
We (some of the community) tend to believe that this is done on purpose by the designers.. i.e. an army rebellion....
-Also, YES, you can revolt lots of provinces all right next to each other in the same turn... I do it when needed, especially when playing as Oda, or an Eastern clan to slow down the Mori or Shimazu advance in the west. It is very effective at creating a buffer zone.

Ok
but how do you explain the green loyal provinces even after the revolt?
Hach
Ok, if it is a daimyo death, I have not been able to replicate it in my games. However, I am mostly methodical in the setup phases and only go blitzkrieg when I'm finishing off a clan or jumping from one "short line" position to another. I also use _lots_ of Shinobi and have 200%+ loyalties even with punitive tax rates. Any province that drops below 200% gets a couple more Shinobi the next turn.

hach-san, you didn't answer my questions. Did they *remain* green after you had received the message that they had been conquered by the rebels (and blah koku looted)? And did you try to reconquer them? What did that do?

It's a glitch, i tell you!! Not a Feature!! A bug! A program failure!! A BUUUUUUUG!!!!!!!
lol, j/k
As others have said, this has been reported before, but the consensus seems to be that it's not a bug, or a glitch, but an actual feature of the game. There's a bunch new features and gameplay twists in the x-pack... hope you can get used to this one, because i happen to like it. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

I also like this feature.Your Daimyo dies and your clan is in turmoil. The new Daimyo might not be unanimously accepted by the entire clan immediately. And with the help of enemy shinobi, rebellions pop up.Sounds realistic to me.High honor shinobi are more important than ever in the expack.I build a teahouse the first season and start cranking them out.First to protect my domains, then into the ronin provinces that were just conquered by my rivals. It only takes 2-3 to start rebellions that keep my rivals busy.I have about 8 honor 5 shinobi in my current campaign from using this strategy.I recommend that you use these shinobi more than you would have in the original game.

Rather than focusing on the daimyo dying mass rebellion which i accept my glitch still remains.
The provinces remain green even when rebel armies are in them?

Hach,
Allow me to see if I can answer your question, as everyone else still is dancing around it. When your diamyo dies, the Loyalty of the provinces themselves are not dropped - instead what you have is a small contingent of "rebels" that take opportunity to strike. They are NOT representative of the province as a whole, but rather a small group taking advantage of an opportunity. As you have no men in the province, they know their "revolt" will be unhindered.
Now, when they first appear, before they take over the province, it is just like any other revolt in that the province remains "your" color until the next turn. When you check loyalty, it shows green simply because the majority of the province is supportive of the new Diamyo, these malcontents are not a result of loyalty - but spawned simply because of the Diamyo's death.
I hope this makes it a bit clearer and keeps you from getting to peeved at the game.

What you state sounds sensible!!
The bastards!!!lol
Sorry Anssi i never replied to your message to get your answer'but that explanation has sold me.
If they can just get my reinforcements to appear in SP'i'll be happy.
Hach
Yep defo the daimyo dying that triggers it.
At least 15 provinces rebelled when he died the last time i played.

Maybe we should call it a glitch so we still have something else to complain about. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

I saw this happen too..
In my case I was playing as Shimazu and had just assassinated Oda. Both the Oda lands AND my own erupted in rebellion. Maybe 5 or 6 of his provinces revolted, 5 or 6 of mine did and Mori reappeared behind my lines all in one go.
My Daiymo had not died and all my provinces were green.
Those peasant scum!!
Any excuse for a party!!!
Your daimyo had not died?
In that case it's even worse than we thought.
The common people don't like any kind of upheaval or massive political change.
So a major daimyo dying even if not your own could push them over the edge.
Or
Word of mouth spreads that it was their own master(you) who had the other daimyo assasinated and they don't approve of your cowardly sneaky and underhand methods
Results the same

I may have been about the first to cry "WTF???" when this happened to me about the second or third day after the WE was released... I remember the surprise and shock factor was EXTREME.
http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif I still think I might hold the record... I think I had maybe thirty revolts in the same turn.
With regard to seeing the color code... I think it goes like this: Turn N, they're green, but your Daimyo gets whacked. Turn "N+1", they're not yours anymore! I don't think you get a warning for this one!
