I found this by sitting on the pot and reading the key strokes for STW:MI (It's the only room in the house a man can get any peace http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif ).

Did you know that you can destroy buildings? It's true. In a province you control, left-click the province, thus revealing the buildings in the bottom menu. left-click desired building (in my case a church in a recently conquered Shimazu province -- I was buddhist, the people were christian) and click on the icon on the far left (a burning castle), click and boom. Really handy.

It can be used to slow the growth of a strong enemy. Say you have enough troops to take a province but not to keep it. Go in, cream his buildings and go back home (real pillaging).

Or what if you have 5 provinces with capabilities to produce emissaries and you want to build a BN dojo but the province can't support another building (this has happened to me). Nuke the redundant tranquil garden and build away.

Anyone else find any nuggets...?

1 and 3 on the keypad zoom on the stragtegy map. Makes for less scrolling and you don't get as dizzy while seeing the AI's turns. Unfortunately the position is not saved.

What you can do to buildings you can do to units. Have one that is eating to much? A group of samurai gotten fat and lazy? Disband them so you wont pay upkeep on em.
Its actually not that useful, but occasionally when u have a depleted unit that never gained much its worth it to just send em on home.

The "Swap Out" button:

During the deployment phase a button appears overtop of the formations icon. The button is marked by 2 rows of troops and a red curved arrow. Highlight a unit of troops and left-click the button and poof the unit is replaced (swapped out) by another unit. This only works if you take more than 16 units into a battle.

This has been know to some for some time, but to others it is a revelation.

At any rate it's c http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif L Beans!
