Maybe this was in STW too, but never noticed it before http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

If your Daimyo is in a province that is cut off from the rest of your lands (no ports, no land connections) - happens for example if the AI captures the connecting parcel of land - loyalty drops dramatically in ALL your provinces. I thought that was pretty cool, had to fight off a couple of revolts http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

P.S. Btw, (playing 1580 campaign) I captured a Shimazu Christian province, it REVOLTED and it was led by Warrior Monks!!! LOL what's up with that?

I think the Daimyo being cut off means that the Daimyo is a much farther distance in normal conquered lands than he actually is.

When a daimyo is cut off, that means he is unable to stay in power unless there are enough troops under his command. But in this case, the daimyo is depleted of fresh troops and no longer have the capability to enforce loyalty upon his provinces with extra men and resources. Thus provided those fanatic monks and peasants or minor clans(specifically speaking of historical facts)to revolt for independence.
