Just finished Shimazu on Expert level!

And this may i say was very easy indeed...i have also now completed Uesugi and Mori http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

The new Expert level would be better suited to being the Normal setting.

Therefore the various SP campaigns must be made more DIFFICULT... the current expert level of difficulty should be the new normal with increasing levels of difficulty from there.

Possible solutions:
-Make the AI more aggressive towards the human player rather than other AI clans.
-Make the initial honour levels and starting tech level of AI clans higher!
-Make them try port to port invasions more often.

Uh...no thank you. I just started playing again a couple of days ago and I am finding the normal campaign difficult enough as it is for the moment. Hopefully within the next week or so I'll get my strategies down so I can breeze through all the clans on normal then hard...but right now as Mori...I am finding the normal campaign tough. Perhaps it's just Mori's starting position and land...I don't remember normal being all that difficult...but then again the last time I played it was when STW first came out(i now have WE/MI) and was playing Uesegi.

Doctor Have you tried the mongol campaign as hojo at Expert?

Have you tried Imagawa at expert starting time 1580 with lasting 70 years as the winning objective?

Try them out, the challenge i suspect, will be more than interesting for you.

What if you made default campaign units H2? Wouldnt that make the campaigns challenging? Werent you just saying you liked SP AS IS?

1). MORALE>

Morale is increased by 2 points for each honor upgrade. MI has increased morale by 12 pts. Thats a morale increase equivalent to 6 honor upgrades, which is nearly triple that of a units base cost. This increase was to a system where 18 pts. is considered impetuous, and the range was from -4 morale for YA, to +8 morale for WM, and ND. For every 2 honor upgrades morale is raised by 4 pts., and the units cost is almost doubled (96%). Campaign costs, and base unit stats, are for H0 units. The cost of custom and online units is for an H2 unit, and so they have +4 to morale, and double the value of campaign units.

Solution:
Make the default campaign unit an H2 unit, and set the default morale in MI back 12 points.
Alternate:
Set the custom, and online default to H0, and lower MI morale settings by 8 pts.

No, i do like the campaign as it is especially MORALE wise...

Just think it is a little too easy on expert level!

Anyways, have just spent some time boosting the AI's starting buildings and units to see if that makes it more challenging http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Should be tougher now!
