Gaming Community

[UglyElmo]

Ok guys, i have stated in the past about forming a community that spans multiple games so that we may keep in touch with each other once we move on to other things. I wanted to find a name, which would be unusual and funny/intriguing. Since I am UglyElmo I thought that a fun name for this community would be U.G.L.Y. or U.G.L.I. I tried to think of what this acronym could stand for and came up with a list of words that could be interchanged with words for the other letters. So please help me choose the best name for this new community. Here are the choices for each letter.

U. United, Unlimited, Universal, or Ultimate
G. Gaming, Gamer's
L. League, Legion
Y. couldn't think of anything that would sound good that started with a Y. so I thought that I. would be a good substitute
I. Inc. or International

I think that Ultimate Gaming Legion, International or UGLI for short would be a good name. What name do you all think would sound better? PS. Moderator's this really isnt a clan post, it is a community post, that is why i p ut it here,but if you like you may move it into the clan forum. or
Unusual Gamers of Lengendary Insignificance

united gaming league of yore/yesteryear. sort of says that old games never die, they just move to the nostalgic forum topics.

unified gaming logic, inc. (now this one sounds like a legit company)

unqualified group of legendary yappers. ..another forum group name ;)

ugly gamers and lethargic yaks ...the yak, being such an ugly beast, would have to be the mascot here. some like cows, some like chickens and some like wolves..we'd have the yak ;) for a little double entendre, you could even say that 'yak' was an acronym for yappers and killers ;)

Hopefully, I will be finished with it by next weekend. WOOOHOOO

What do you guys think of having a forum where we could swap old games that we no longer play? I have several that I have bought that either do not work on my machine, or that I have played and do not want to replay. It would be nice to trade someone rather than give them away or sell them for hardly nothing.

I hate to just pop in, and make suggestions, without any silliness whatsoever. Not because I dont want to, it's just that I discovered a boil on my cat's right flank. I had to use the reserve of time needed for humor, so that I could lance it. I also had to devout some of my efforts towards policing the surgery, so I could recover and repair my instruments.

I'd place my milk-money on "Universal Gaming League, Int'l.", to win or show.

Mainly because "Ultimate", and "Legion" make me think of particular games. Not that I should have wasted that moment, explaining my reasons to you.

I'd also wager, something other than my milk-money, that all these names are copyrighted already. You'd better expect some serious legal entanglements, if you're gonna fight them over it.

And, for that person who suggested "Uninstalled Games, Letme Yawn", I'd just like to say 'shame', 'shame'.

You'd be putting yourself in further jeopardy, of serious legal entanglements. You'd be holding yourself out to the public as an incorporated body, which you might not be.

If you start a group called "Universal Gaming League Youngsters" derived from mostly Shogun players, you'd be lying too. At least, you really are Int'l.

And if you stick with "Universal Gaming League Inc.", you're likely to get whacked by the Mob.

and jaeger, i like the 'lost youth' portion of that one, but i'd put something else in front of it...maybe unified geeks of :) i'd hate to have to add up all the time i've spent on these silly games.

if i ever dumped all my old computer games on e-bay they'd need several more servers. and where i like your idea, i doubt i'd ever use it...us underwear gamers of lost youth tend to be worse than couch potatos about getting up and going to the post office to mail stuff.

overall, i think the entire concept is a great one. dont know how many friends i've lost track of cause one or the other of us has moved on to bigger and better.

oh, oh, i know! let's just take over the off topic forum!

actually, i did make one inquiry to .org personnel about doing a multi-games type thing here on the .org, but they werent having it at the time...maybe when stw/we/mi dies down a little?

I'm all for it, it's just that I've never played anythign else online but STW, and I can't host games (Uni Proxy). I have played checkers online once and it was actually kinda fun. I really would like ot play Close Combat online, but it never worked. I've yet to try a direct connection. Any suggestions?
