One new feature that looks like it might be avaliable in WE/MI is the ability to retrain units. When you raise the info parchment for one of your units it tells you their honour, general honour, total honour, weapons & armour etc...it also tells you the cost of retraining if the unit contains less than the maximum amount of men.
So how the hell do you retrain units. I can't seem to find it in the manual (although the manual for MI is rather small and only tells you a couple of things). Anyone else figured this one out. Or perhaps it tells you in the WE manual and just not the MI manual. I like to merge damaged units (ie. less than maximum men) to create full sized ones and leaving the smaller ones behind but retraining sounds even better!

Had a couple of treads explaining this. You will find your answer here: http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002065.html
I asked this one a couple of days ago:
1 - Put the unit in a province that has the neccessary buildings to upgrade or just replace the lost fighters.
2 - Select the train units button for that province.
3 - Select the army that contains the unit/s you want to retrain, then drag and drop the unit into the next box available for training units. They'll then appear in the castle with full numbers and all the upgrades as any new unit would.

this really needs to be put in the archives, just so that this much-asked question can be simply referenced to there

I looked in the manual at first when I saw the retraining info and there is nothing in there that I could find about it. Is it anywhere in the manual...
I couldn't find out either in the manual, that's why I asked here.

Which raises in interesting point.
There are so many things that should have been in the manual but aren't there.

I had put a 24 men YS in the castle and put them into the training area, and ended my turn but on the next turn the unit has NOT been retrained (still 24 men). Did I forget something?

Do you have the Spearman Dojo? You need it first.
