I starting a Hard, full campaign with Mori (STW).

Within the year, I was able to sieze 3-4 provinces. The problem is that the uprisings are killing me.

For instance, one Ronan province which is empty until I invade. A unit or two appears which I just barely defeat. The problem is that the very next season there is an uprising and 3 enemy units appear (a fair sized group for that early in the game).

Is there any way to prevent these uprisings at the beginning of the game (short of moving ALL your men into one province)? If I wait too long to attack, they will just be built up that much more and Mori isn't exactly the richest player at the start of the game.

1)lower your tax rate
2)produce shinobi to boost up loyalty
3)the closer your daimyo is to that province, the more loyalty bonus you'll get

It is advisable to be somewhat careful with your conquering. After you conquer a province, you will want a large garrison there for about a full year, as peasants are naturally distrustful of a new Daimyo.

Insufficient garrison in a newly conquered province is the #1 reason for revolts. Plus, if one revolt happens, the next one will be even worse, and if a revolt SUCCEEDS then the damn thing's gonna snowball into neighboring provinces.. it can get messy, especially in the expansion.

All I can say is monitor your loyalty level in all your provinces. If it's below 100%, there is a chance of revolt. Be concerned if it's below 90%. Take decisive action if it's below 80%. Bust your a$$ is it's below 60%.

This is a critical factor in the game. Gothmog also listed some key factors in loyalty.
