View Full Version : Bribing Rebels
Hi all,
I was in the situation twice where my emissary was bribing a rebel army and the comment was something like "he was so disgusted with your offer he has taken the head of your emissary".
Now I have no problem with taking the emissary's head - though he would probably disagree http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif - but they also seem to take all of my koku. I mean everything!
Has anyone else had this happen? Is this a bug or what?
Just to expain if I had 5000 koku and the rebel wanted 2000 as the bribe, I have lost the entire 5000? And the emissary of course.

my understanding is this: thy killed your agent and took the money he was offering. when you bribe, you hand over money. the only time you get it back is if it's refused (ie. they don't take the cash, literally.)
next time, avoid going forward with the bribe unless it's verrry close or adds up to the suggested amount.
Why would your emissary be carrying your entire budget?
I could understand losing the amount he was offering - but it simply does not make sense that they take the lot?

well, if he was Offering All You [Had], then he was carrying/offering your entire budget. The problem is, your entire budget wasn't enough to satisfy the Bribee, so he took it.

I have never seen this,in my experience, either the bribe was accepted or declined. Are you sure that you actually had the required amount in your budget? Were you also training troops and building dojo's etc...and maybe didn't have enough koku to meet the bribe price?I don't know how else to explain this, sounds like you tried to "low ball" him and he took offense lol.Btw did he send your emissary's head back?

Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to hell so that they look forward to making the trip.
I have turned off the option of the throne room - one of the nice options you have now - so I simply receive a message. The message goes "the rebel general was so disgusted/annoyed(?) with your offer he has taken your emissary's head." Then no koku.
As far as taking the lot - twice I have had my koku go down to exactly 0 after this has happened. There is no way that any building etc could have made it back to 0 twice.
They can keep the head - it is not mine - I just want my koku back.
