WE/MI v1.10 beta patch available

CA/DT has made a beta patch for WE/MI available. Head over to http://www.totalwar.com/community/index.htm to get it. It's a 6.7 MB download. It looks like a very good patch so far.

I am not sure what they mean exactly... gotta try it out.

SHOGUN TOTAL WAR WE/MI UPGRADE PATCH V1.01 (Beta) README

Patch V1.01 (Beta 1)

=============================================================================

*PLEASE NOTE*:

1) This is the beta version of the patch. Please install at your own risk. Until the official release (non-beta), this patch does not warrant specific customer service or support. However, this patch has been tested previously.

2) You will need to download the correct version of this patch for your version and language:

Versions:

1) Shogun: Total War - The Mongol Invasion

(ShogunM.exe included)

2) Shogun: Total War - Warlord Edition or Shogun: Total War - Gold Edition

(ShogunW.exe included)

Languages:

1) European: English, French, Spanish, German, Polish, Swedish and Dutch

2) Unicode: Thai, Japanese and Chinese

Installation:

To install this release, download the self extracting zip file, execute (double-click) it, and then type in the location of your game directory. e.g. 'c:\program files\total war\shogun - total war - warlord edition'

Alternatively, install the file(s) to a temporary location (default is c:\temp) then copy the file(s) inside the temporary directory into your game directory with the same directory structure.

(Note: the version you are currently running is visible on the Shogun Total War title screen)

Reverting to v1.0:

To revert to v1.0, copy the original ShogunW.exe or ShogunM.exe back over from the game CDs found on disc 1 (or the single disc for Mongol The Invasion).

Improvements

Multiplayer:

1) Multiplayer morale has been changed back to the settings as in the original Shogun: Total War release. No longer does your army have a morale boost to start with. The multiplayer is now more challenging and it is easier to rout the enemy.

2) Upgrade costs for weapons and armor have increased slightly.

3) Warrior Monks, Korean Guardsmen, Mongol Light Cavalry, Musketeers and Mongol Heavy Cavalry are more expensive in multiplayer to balance their abilities.

4) Reinforcement start points have been reviewed to enhance realism.

5) It is now possible to play Mongol Vs Mongol and Early Japanese Vs Early Japanese games (4 players maximum per race, with up to 8 players in total per game).

6) Minimum multiplayer game time is now 10 minutes.

General:

1) Hidden units cannot be seen by attacking units (apart from the general's unit).

2) A series of code fixes have been made to improve stability.

3) A few minor text improvements have been implemented (Japanese only). Please see unzip gold.zip for instruction on how to install these changes.

It seems people are having trouble getting the patch from totalwar.com to work. Better to get the patch from Erado's site. See the link on the main page here. Make sure you get the one that matches your game installation: WE or MI.
