Hi all,

is it only my impression that no one uses the new user-made maps?? They are so cool, really!But it seems that everyone just wants to hold totomi.

No mate. There are some people who are using maps that are made by people but when they host it up many players are reluctant to enter because they may not know if that map is hilly or flat and generally don't know what to expect from the map. Also there are some people who like attacking or defending one or two maps which are good at and that's it. Also not all the players have the latest maps so we have to wait the map-packs from the daimyo who is doing some nice job into making players play on that maps.
I would like to see players playing more on player mayde maps. That also makes a lot of map-makers consider making new maps sicne so few players play on them.

MapPack 301 is available for download since 18-9-2001. The 100 'old' maps still work in STW WE/MI. This mappack has both those 100 old maps and several xpack editor maps. Hide_Sanada offers a very nice castle to attack, it has many gates to enter, has nice terrain and is very well textured.

There are also lot's of flat and fair maps. Tokugawa Ieyasu would never have conquered all of Japan if he only waged battles in Totomi.

yes, i know these maps and they're great.
The problem i see is that many people are not playing for strategic fun (as it should be) but for the honour system, totally honour-fixed! So, why should i try a new map, if i can wait in totomi, this is a save thing. Bah. Just for being able to sing "I have more honour na nana nana!!". For myself,
i only play friendly games. So i can be shure, that my opponent is someone, who enjoys the idea of the game.

I play friendlies in all maps attacking and defending but l would like to attack a map that l know or is flat. Games are all about fun http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

see, now there's the REAL reason they shld have done the online campaign...it would have forced folks to play many different maps :)
