To make a Buddhist Temple, you need to have a Tranquil Garden. After you make a Temple, can you destroy the garden (sometimes useful to make room for other bldgs to abide by the 16 bldg max limit) and still make monks?

I believe you can. Some of our newly conquered province also contains those lonely high-tech buildings.

In 1580 campaign of Shimazu, I took over Imagawa's Hizen on the first season, and sold everything except the battlefield ninja dojo. I could still train batlefield ninja there. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
