Im wondering if everyone thinks that Total war should be a one program game with each section in it. Such as was with MI. You got to chose.
I personally would like to see it happen where you could choose even japanese units vs english units would be interesting.
So why not have a total war where one could choose any era of play in one foyer on one server.
Just a thought.

Thats a nice idea. But can you imagine how big the game would have to be. It could be the only game you could have on your computer. And all the memory it would need???
Nice but impossible I think.

I doubt it would be much bigger than it what it currently is. What takes all the space are graphics and most of all - the engines. Adding units i.e. models, textures, animations, and stats wouldn't be that big.
Realistically the biggest hurdle would be is it cost effective - which it really isn't....
I'm more than content with rtw....

I agree kenchi. I have actually played and worked on photos not to mention that I most of us have all the versions installed on the computer. So as far as multi player I think it would be rather easy to just add units. However, I think comp in single player may be cumbersome

It wouldn't be possible simply because stw is distributed by EA, and MTW by Activision. Its a nice idea, and would be very fun to try, but I'm sure EA wouldn't like it very much. Not to mention all the complaining people would do when a group of Heavy Cav from one of the Catholic factions crushed a non-spear unit from stw. STW was balanced for STW, but I don't know if it would fit well with the MTW stats. Its wishful thinking though. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

MTW has enough troubles of its own with balancing, let alone mixing them with Shogun.
