View Full Version : A newbie question
Hello to all members of this honourable comminity. I have some experience with STW but have some questions about the WI.
1. Where can I raise new units - Battlefield ninjas and Kensai?
2. How to retrain generals?
3. How to bribe?
Thank you in advance
I don't actually have the add-on, yet, but I will try to help as best I can. The battlefield ninja are trained at the "batlefield ninja dojo" which I think needs a citadel before you can build it. Kensai I believe, need a citadel and the "legendary swordsman event", and maybe a specialist building as well.
I don't know how to retrain generals, sorry!
To bribe a general you simply lift an emmisary and drop him on the general who you wish to bribe.
Hope that helps to some degree.

To retrain a general (or any unit for that matter) - open the train unit window, then click the army that holds the unit or units to be retrained. Drag the unit you want to retrain from the bottom army display into the que window of the train units area. This will que the units for retraining and upgrade.
Also - Battlefield Ninja require a citadel and the infamous ninja house to be built before one an build the BN dojo.

The Kensai requires a "legendary sword dojo".
Which of course requires the "legendary swordsman event", and then building all three levels of sword dojo, which in turn requires a citadel. Of course, along the way it would be good to add armories, swordsmiths and palaces, too http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif A Kensai just looks naked without a gold shield and 3 swords on the icon.
Actually, "Generals" don't get retrained, but their units do. As stated above, to retrain you view the "training parchment", then select an army stack on the strategy map (the units in that stack will appear in the central bottom panel).
Drag a unit to be retrained from that bottom panel onto the training parchment. On thing not mentioned above is that once its icon appears there, you can move it around the training queue like any other unit.

to bribe you need a priest or emisary. Pick p and drop the emisary or priest onto the army you wish to bribe and you'll et told how much it will cost to bribe that unit.
You'l get the option to continue and offer the bribe or not, when you end the turn, you'll be told if your bribe is acceped or if you need to raise it.
Bribes work great when dealing with ronin or with troops under castle siege.
Battle Field Ninja you need a Citadel, Infamous Ninja House, Sword Dojo, and a Tranquil Garden according to the tech tree.
Krnsay ypou need a Citadel and Legendary Sword Dojo, and yo you will need to get a legendary swordsman even to first build the Sword Dojom then you just improve the Smord Dojo, to a Famous one and finally you upgrade to a Legendary one and your done.
Thank you all guys!
You are very cooperative

If you offered the recommended amount, can you raise it? I'm still not completely familiar with this yet.

No... but if you have less than the requested amount, you are given the option to bribe with the lesser amount.
The one exception is if the enemy moves more troops into that army you are trying to bribe. If THEY request more money than they initially requested, your are given the option; you can choose to offer the new price, or offer all you got if you can't match it, or call it off.
But, you cant just go out and say: "You're such a nice general... how's an extra grand sound like?"
Hope that helps.
Wouldn't it be nice to alter the bribe amount? Might make bribes for frequent.
