I have a hunch that Richard III was innocent.

As a Lancastrian myself, I say, "No Way Down with Dastardly Dick...he had it coming" http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

hmm

im torn between two halves...

Lancastrian because its a part of my heritage

York because its a part of my heritage......

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i would chose lancastrian in the end, as the yorkists were more insistent on killing the scottish as the lanacastirans were... another part of my heritage

Richard the third was innocent, I believe duke of bukingham did it to try to get in the good books with richard but it just pissed him of soo bucking ham led a revolt against him,
and also richarddid not have hunch just a overly developed sword arm, cause he wasn't weak a$$ p*ssy like henry the 7, Bloody tudor scum. (like commies only earlier http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif ) The stuarts rock I must admit, but are no-where near as good as yorkists http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/redface.gif .

Since I'm from Lincolnshire I am not going to take sides with a Yorkist http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Although I myself don't see much point to a grudge, I do say the occasional "Damn Yorkies", and I know there are still many people who hold that grudge here (South Yorkshire vs. North East Lincolnshire.)

Did not the first Black Adder deal with that time period?

The War of the Roses is a time period I am unfamiliar with (although I am familiar with the Battle of Bosworth).

This (http://homepages.shu.ac.uk/~conseal/history.htm) is a good overview of the war and there are also lots of sites for the individual battles http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

The original conflict really had very little to do with county/shire boundaries in a Lancashire and Yorkshire context, but it has crystallised into such over the ensuing centuries. It was basically a family, dynastic squabble. The Yorkies became very upset I think that something that carried their Yorkshire epithet was ultimately a failure. You see Yorkshire is the biggest English county so they think they are the biggest and best at everything.....and they ain't http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Being Welsh myself I s'pose at the very least that by that time we'd developed a talent for backing the right horse Hence we fought on Edward's side in the 1470's, then backed up Henry Tudor in 1485 (albeit thanks to some heavy duty propaganda by the future king). http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Me too actually - a lot of Henry VII's ideas were essentially copied from him, but Henry was blessed with more time and fewer opponents. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

What he said (well, we are from the same village http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif )

And as my (Lancastrian) father likes to say

"you can always tell a Yorkie, but you can't tell him much"
