I have a few suggestions as to improving multiplayer games and making a more challenging experience for all.First i`d like to suggest allowing more than 16 units in a game, you could then have massive battles involving up to 5000 men on each side lasting up to an hour or more.Secondly i would allow 20% more koku for attacking armies armies,as they have a substantial disadvantage at the moment.

My final point involves objectives and pricing for units,as both these issues should be addressed for better multiplay.the issue of objectives should be addressed by having specific points on the map to be held by the defender for the duration of the battle.unlike kingofthehill this would involve the defending army holding a set point and repelling his foe and the attacker would have to assault it to win.this would make battles more authentic and involve the withdrawal of a beaten army just like real battles.

Finally i`d like to suggest a higher price for muskets, around 400 koku, and archers to be more effective at killing enemy troops.cavalry must be more effective at beating monks and no-dachi too,as a man on a horse has a significant advantage over a foot soldier.

thank you.

I would agree with it all, to a point King. I always wanted to try a game with 24 units in shogun, but no further than this unless maps become huge!!!

I agree that 4v4 would be out of the question, but 1v1 would be possible if the 2 players had high spec computers.I would also suggest a possible multiplayer campaign could consist of a small island map with about 10 provinces with 2 players, the objective being take the island, this would mean a relatively short campaign with little problems of dropping out of the game.

I don't think the unit limit can practically be increased by much, but the idea of giving the attacking army more koku is a good one. It may be my lack of practice, but even on flat maps defending is easier. Another way to tackle this would be to make games with 2 legs, one where you attack and another where you defend. I actually prefer this idea, since you could play non-flat maps. These aren't going to get played in single battles, because they aren't fair, but there is a lot of skill in minimising casualties when your opponent has such an advantage, and I think MP would benefit from double battles in hilly provinces.

I would prefer, instead of giving the attack more koku, the ability to set different koku for each individual players regardless of att/def. This would give us the most flexibility, e.g. allocate lower koku to players on the flanks to emphasise the battle of the central forces, or more koku to a particular flank..etc..
