Allies and gaining provinces

I'm often allied to a clan that dies but I never get any of the provinces. I can understand that if it was you that killed them off with a ninja or geisha but when it was another clan in a battle... Why not me http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif ?

bad luck i would say,

i generally get their provinces if i have remained allied to them for a long time,
and it has never been cancelled by him or me due to one of us going to war with an ally of the other.

i 'inherit' provinces about half the time.

if the alliance has been on again off again the chances of 'inheriting' provinces seems to drop.

Zone,check the alliance parchment.If you are not listed first as an ally with the clan in question then you get nothing.If that's not it then I can't explain why you don't get to inherit at least some of the provinces.I've noticed that sometimes the clan I'm allied to seems to lose almost all his provinces before he is killed,especially if he is under attack from multiple clans.

Usually my allies lose all their provinces before their daimyo gets killed. So I know why I don't get any. I guess if I were a better ally I could set myself up for a few later on. But who am I really kidding, there can be only one. :-)

usually the first clan listed on the Allies List has the best chance to get them. it's a percentage chance, really. last on the list, or very recent alliances have almost no chance.
