Is there anyway to get sword event fast?

I usually get the sword event fast..

The best way is to launch a whole bunch of strategically unwise offensives and fight ridiculous battles in which you are literally hanging by the thinning thread of your own tactical prowess.

Usually in the course of all this you will perform some unseemly slaughters of enemy troops, which leads to Sword Events :-P

enagage in a small battle with your Daimyo, or other fast unit (Cavalry or whatever is available at the time) and chase down the fleeing army with them. Gets the event every time since cav get more kills chasing foot soldiers than your own biped units do.

Nope.. just generally put yourself in those sorts of situations.. as Soly said running down the routing enemy with Cav is probably the surest way..

I always got rewarded of this event after killing a daimyo, unless I have it already, that is.

I believe - not 100%positive on it - that a single soldier in a unit of yours must take five kills and survive the battle. So this is more likely to happen in a slaughter. And routing troops running from cavalry are sure to supply this http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif Your Daimyo and his unit are also very good for this as they have high honour and as a small unit they amass a lot of kills each; unlike a full unit.

Storm a beseiged castle with a small force of monkeys or cavalry, and slaughter everybody. You're bound to get a swordsman within two or three of these.

I got one during the first season. I attacked across the bridge. Takeda had one unit of Cav Archers. I charged them with YS ... decimated the Cav and killed the general.

One way *not* to achieve a sword event is to auto-resolve a battle!

Best thing I know is lead your daimyo into battle. He'll usually get the kills for you.

Of course, he may GET killed, but hey, if you do it early enough, what have you really lost. :^)

definately a cav unit is the best way,

even after the AI has marched all across the map,
fought, or tried to fight his way up a steep hill,
broken and rallied 3 times before routing completely,
that AI unit STILL can run faster than a fesh unit of mine!
ever seen exhausted naganita outrun fresh ashigaru?
i think the AI's units are on some sort of 'contraband' substance, perhaps they keep a little in a pouch for when they must flee?
